QUOTE(voncrane @ Jun 14 2018, 08:23 AM) ... Nope.. Decided on Meteor Gray cuz easier to maintain and doesn't look too dirty after rainfall or a week or 2 no wash.. Plus, went to showroom to see DC Blue in person and could immediately see swirls and light scratches very prominent looking. And this is the polished display car.. Imagine a daily driver.. Yes it dcb definitely looks better but I'm not willing to invest that much time to maintain it. I wash the car myself.. Won't be doing no expensive coating too.. Bought protect/sealant and wax to apply later. . .. It was a no brainer to buy now. 10k plus savings off loan interest rates is huge. Got my DC Blue this week and it's interesting to have seen five same colour CX-5s during this period. Previously, not so many. After much thought, PPS and coating is out. I've decided to have it waxed/buffed every three months as a way to upkeep it from tar/whirls as opposed to heftier visits to the coating center even if not as often as waxing it. Importantly, we live in a country where road conditions and driving behaviour would result to unavoidable bumps, chips and dents. Hence, post-respraying the affected section would still require recoating it (Gtechniq gave the estimated cost of RM250). Plus, the coating of the damaged section needs to be sanded off for the paint to effectively adhere to. As for tint, I'm contemplating tinting the front windscreen only + Groovy shades for the rest. At least the shades are removable, to cater to change in interior scenery from time to time. Just a lifestyle preference. As for the first week of ownership experience itself, two out of four doors need their closing latch recalibrated during the upcoming first SC visit. The doors require harder force to close. As for the MZD display, setting the brightness to Auto does not work. It is still bright as Day, during night time drives. Question: Can someone recommend a good car waxing centre in Klang Valley please? |

Anyway has experienced buying from Kepong or Batu cave dealer ? Which shop is more trustworthy when it comes to commitment ?
As do not want end of the day sa promise by verbal that Car will be delivered next month just to get sales. If so will walk away to avoid time wasting for both. This post has been edited by djvixx: Jun 15 2018, 04:57 PM |

QUOTE(rawfish @ Jun 15 2018, 02:08 PM) I share the same views too. The 0% GST makes up more than 50% off the bank total interest. Ah.. I too plan to replace just the front. From my pics, can see I've already got magnetic shades up.. Gives the privacy & extra shade we want without the hassle. Easy to apply and remove if approaching roadblock.. Question: Can someone recommend a good car waxing centre in Klang Valley please? Yeah, I noticed the MZD display isn't affected by the auto setting.. Thought I wasn't setting it right and resorted to manual setting. Found a sweet spot. Hey, does the your dash displays (RPM, Speedo, lcd) dim and brigthen when you turn the stalk? Seems like mine doesn't. or perhaps its cuz MZD connect display is on auto? This post has been edited by voncrane: Jun 15 2018, 07:08 PM |

The dash display dims when the stalk is turned regardless of the MZD display setting (Auto/Day/Night).As for the MZD display, setting it to Auto allows the brightness to be tuned accordingly to the dash display when the stalk is adjusted. Setting it to Day or Night will just lock the brightness in that setting regardless how you set the dash display. |

Not sure if it’s of any helps or not, but pls switch on the headlight first before you adjust the brightness display.

Eh, to all existing owners where do you guys do your wax/polish in Klang Valley? Got budget options other than self wax/polish?
Also, where do you guys wash ur car? Self wash? My nearby place charge 20 bucks for vacuum and wash. Was thinking if there's a cheaper place. This post has been edited by Duckies: Jun 18 2018, 11:24 AM |
