If you have budget, best to take out all and replace with a better one. I am on a tight budget so I only changed the windscreen. Skytint's TSER for the front windscreen is pretty shitty. The rest seems okay to me.
*
In fact the tint (KonicaMinolta) on CX5 is not that bad, the only problem is the VLT is way too high. There is definitely no need to have VLT of 85% for the front and 70% for the rest as per JPJ requirements. The higher the VLT the lower the TSER, it's the same for all tint films. Vkool Elite with 73% VLT is providing 94% IR rejection which is lower that RT70 on CX5 which provides 97% IR rejection.

If you wanted to replace all the films on CX5, you can go for darker films that will provide better TSER.

Received a call from my SA, got a new 2.5 coming in today. Earlier i booked 2.5 but then decided to go for 2.2 (but if really cant get it, i ll just settle with 2.5)

Im not in hurry to get a new car. Buying this also due to 0% gst. Im not expecting to get the car this month. Plus, i just submitted plet no tender and only will know the result by july

So, i sort of let go that unit. Dont know if i made the right decision or not. Hopefully i wont regret. Haha.. ๐Ÿ˜‚

You will only regret if your new car not come on time before Sep 2018, before SST implementation.

Yes.. It's less than 3K but round up as 3K.. In the time you keep asking and waiting for response here.. Better spent contacting any single Mazda SA for accurate pricing.. My 2 sen.

I suggest you better go to any showroom to book your car ASAP. The current waiting list is quite long. Just afraid that you can't get your car before SST comes. All the best =)

Haha.. I know the feels.. Which is why I always recommend those who want the 2.0 to never test the other engines cuz if you do, the difference in power delivery is instantly noticeable.. We almost got the 2.0 GLS cuz can remap later plus it's sufficient for city driving (we being city people).. Unfortunately or fortunately, after a single back to back test drive. We knew, we had to spring for the diesel. laugh.gif It's basically in sports mode all the time. But without the whiny high revving sounds of the petrol engine.. Just be sure to scout out Euro 5 stations around you or along regular routes.

Quite possible.. hmm.gif.. I do know that there are after market remapping + mods that can be done to any of the engines to boost performance and fc.. Not stickers yeah.. laugh.gif.. Of course, best to wait till after warranty for such.

On another note, I believe I've figured out the Auto display and instruments cluster lighting issue. There's a thin stalk beside the info lcd, that was previously in the "out" position...need to push it back it and voila, the auto dimming now works on auto, day and night.

Hard to say if it's really that good cause it boils down to one's preference but there's a reason it's out of stock so fast biggrin.gif Could be those test drive unit also sold out as some people do not mind it.

I believed HQ Glenmarie should have the test drive units.
Normally they have the 2.0 GLS, 2.5 and 2.2 AWD test drive units available and the SAs will inform the customers if the test drive units are loaned to other branch.

Previously those smaller branches only have the 2.0 GLS test drive unit while the bigger branches also have the bigger capacity test drive units

Made my booking 8th of June for 2.5L SRC
Manage to get the car on 14th June.
Was a miracle to withdraw old car NCD, secure loan/sign/release, and get a nice number plate,r egister online and collect car within 5 days.

It was special case as manage to get the sales office to reserve a car.

Pros:-
good power delivery.
nice interior
auto hold is good.
blind spot warning is good, though not sure how it really works
nice and sporty front.

Cons
engine rev a little harse at 2-3k RPM when pushing the power.
once get into speed is nice.
boring dashboard (plain white wording with black back ground)
no BOSE even with high spec.
Annoying I-STOP
a bit normal rear, take note the panel below the lights is very very soft.

Handling.... hmmm.
need more time to test out the GVC.... hard to compare with a sedan.

Plan to do that on my 2.0gls.
After a rim change and then some performance boost after warranty.
Get the best out of SkyActive. brows.gif

Hi guys, i was offered an Ambank variable rate loan for the CX5..

Do you suggest variable rate loan better than the fixed loan?

Thanks!

Yes, I've tried speeding on the highway...but max 120km/h cuz still trying to follow the rules of a new engine. And Nope, it doesn't get less punchier.. One second, I'm cruising at 90 and the next (say overtaking), it's at 120 at still eager to pull away. As far as I can tell, the only times it'll feel a bit lazy is after a cold startup and moving from standstill. Need to let the engine reach its normal 100 degrees celsius, before it becomes more naturally responsive. Of course, you can floor it if you want, cold engine or not. Just not ideal. IMO.

If I recall correctly, general advice is that, if you plan to settle much earlier.. Then go with variable. Else stick to fixed. I stand corrected.

Need to know what's the variable rate you got. If you plan to pump in money whenever you can to settle the loan, variable rate loan will benefit you at the end. The downside is that the rate is susceptible to BR/BLR.

I got offered for both variable and fixed rate but I went for fixed rate for the peace of mind. Plus the % difference is not much in my case.
