My categories are mobile, utilities and petrol, and you can control each category's spending. A word of advice, always end your spending with RM5 behind.
For example,
Mobile = RM225 spent, rebate = RM23;
Petrol = RM 355 spent, rebate = RM36;
Utilities = RM405 spent, rebate = RM41;
Total = RM985 spent, rebate = RM100.

I have even paid RM1 just to add up to the desired figure. icon_rolleyes.gif

CategorySpend10% Cashback
MobileRM 325RM 33
Cat ARM 325RM 33
Cat BRM 335RM 34
TotalRM 985RM 100

That means, spend a cumulative total of RM985 to achieve RM100 cashback, effective rate is about 10.15% thumbup.gif

i've simulated the calculation (on paper), you need to all 3 categories to achieve highest cashback rate with the lowest spending sweat.gif

dont bother much about RM985. it's just to test the maximum return from the card.

as long as you can achieve 10X RM50, the card is quite good dy.

I myself couldnt hit 10X RM50, so i help paying mobile bills/grocery from my household and reload TnG card sweat.gif

for Grocery, i meticulously group items into RM50+ per swipe, then swipe each group one after another (gotta have thick skin when ppl queueing behind you stares fiercely at you! LOL!)

I have been hitting 10x RM50 for more than 1.5 years smile.gif and I am very happy with this card. In case if I did not hit the 10X, I will go to Maxis Cash Deposit machine and pay for my next month bill hehe .. OR go to AEON Big and buy their RM50 Gift card.

Actually no need to make it complicated, the trick is, all the 3 categories transaction must be have rm5 in the ending, but with this way, each category minimum is rm55.

They are rounding up at the nearest rm0.50.

Update from my earlier post

confirmed, my petrol transaction on 31st Mar posted on 2nd Apr
rebate not given for month of April.

So end of May will update again, both my Mar & Apr quota not max out.

rebate not given for the month of April means my March transactions, which is my petrol on 31st March

FYI, if you transact in March, your rebate will only be given to you next following month which is usually end of April.

I normally spend till 28th... since i won't be max out the following month quota, might as well give it a try as I already met the required min 10 x RM50 transaction.

also, to once and for all to end the argument between some of you here on whether it's based on transaction date or posting date

so far, I can conclude that, better to spend from 1st to 28th of the month...

As far as I know, you must terminate the sub status in order to apply Principal card.

just as I thought..
will do so maybe after I get the luggage bag first..
as I have average RM2.5k of TNB bills to pay monthly, getting RM200 is always better than RM100
