uh? realtek? not intel? i checked msi driver page and it said intel network drivers for z170a krait?

another thing is, since it's installed correctly, is it connected to the lan cable and enabled? if possible please provide more details, because i really don't get what you meant by 'network adapter gone'.

I believe its realtek

I'm using lan cable all the way
when I upgraded to window 10.... my connection become a red cross, not a yellow exclamation mark.
I press troubleshoot and it said no driver available..... when I put in the cd to reinstall... it said driver already installed.
then I went to the network adapter to try to check the status .... no adapter can be found.

.. it cannot be. if it's true, that means msi is lying.

Attached Image

if you scrolled down the full spec, it says IntelĀ® I219-V Gigabit LAN controller. i have checked the driver page for this mobo. there is no realtek lan driver. it only has intel lan driver. maybe you should double check.

i don't think msi command center is a vpn client. i suspect t's about other stuff that is in the way. you can uninstall that msi command center and see how it goes.

if nothing worked for you, the most time-saving way is a fresh install. do a full system and data backup before you do that so that you can restore everything when it's still not working. (alternatively, disconnect all current disks, and use a spare disk to test the fresh install)

have you updated all drivers posted at dell support site for your laptop? if you don't, please do that. start with intel drivers (chipset, rapid storage, mei), then the rest. reboot if necessary.

the upgrade will not proceed if ms thinks your current system has issues, based on diagnostic results. if you know what you're doing, and have prepared for the worst, you can just proceed by force updates, or using genuineticket.xml method.

on the target activated current os:
1. download all w10 compatible drivers from manufacturer(s);
2. download and save compatible w10 iso with media creation tool, http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows...on-tool-install (use the 64bit version if possible);
3. make a w10 usb stick with the iso, e.g. for a uefi system, just format a usb stick (at least 8gb) with fat32, then use winrar or 7zip to extract all the contents directly from iso to usb stick;
4. in windows, run setup.exe in the usb stick;
5. install drivers from step 1.

make sure your computer is connected to internet during the upgrade process. also, please at least make a backup of your important data first before step 1.

Finally found a fellow 7447 owner tongue.gif
I've opted for Win10 upgrade but am hesitating after reading through some gaming issues online. The one below is one of the example:
http://www.tomsguide.com/answers/id-278810...zes-gaming.html

Are you using Steam on your 7447? Did the upgrade affect your gaming experience?

I game alot through steam and I'm sure alot of 7447 owners do too. Wouldn't want the upgrade to screw up everything sad.gif

Yes steam for dota2 and csgo. So far no problem on that. Only black screen on boot.
