Okay, and with that it seals the deal for me to NOT watch this. Read your review too.

I thought David Ayer whose "Fury" is among his works I liked could be the saving grace for DC and the cast which seemed poised for greatness... aiyo...  doh.gif

"Lousy version of Joker."  What a shocker. Its Jared Leto who throws himself into the role he plays.. sweat.gif

I am sure when Marvel replaces Iron Man actor, we will be seeing a lousy version of Iron Man also. Sometimes cannot always compare to others because some act cannot be topped.

Ni anak-anak semua dalam ni yang bising-bising ni dah tengok ke belum. Lel

If you're a casual moviegoer, you'll find it just fine. Watched it, and liked it. The fact that throughout the movie all attendees enjoyed it (thru their laughs), sums up that it is indeed a fine movie

People who depend on reviewers are simply pathetic; they can't watch first and make their own opinion. Even if you agree with those reviewers who don't like it after watching it, you can simply bash it all you want and move on. But really, you don't have to force others to not like too. Get a life

Just watched. OK film but not the second coming DC needed. Very disjointed film, lots of the scenes don't make sense like that scene where they form a circle around rick flagg pew pew bang bang, ok we're done next scene, or that scene where captain boomerang just straight up and ran when rick flagg destroys the detonator and gave them the opportunity to leave, but then comes back few seconds later for no reason like huh? confused.gif

The story also doesn't flow very well, it's hard to tell if the scene is a flashback or dream or the present. Action scenes are so-so only.

Apart from the negatives, there were few moments I liked in this film, like the epic scene when flash appeared (for like 2 seconds) drool.gif

Oh, and if you're a DC hater, seriously don't go and watch on the premiere night la. Premiere night is for its fans. They're eager to see it, that's why they couldn't wait

You're a hater, why do you even waste your time watching it so fast lol. You should wait till the ticket's price drops, and perhaps you can ask your family/friends to go along, so that if you're bored, you can just talk with them and harass others in there. Yeah? Lol. You need to work somemore the next day. Kenot brain these people. So semangat tengok awal-awal

RT maybe unreliable nowadays but this movie is a confirm turdsss, at least for me. Damn, so much hopes, so much potential and all we got is dung. Storyline, plot, script all f*cked up. The only redeeming for me is some of the performance special mention Deadshot and HQ. Now I fear for everything in DCEU. I mean BvS super hype up, got great trailer minus the 2nd one which spoiled everything, this one also overly hype, promising trailer but in the end what a disappointment. JL and Wonder Woman got pretty amazing trailer, will they end up like this also?

People tend to forget it took Marvel almost 5 films before they get the blockbuster breaking box office records in The Avengers.

First film: Iron Man, pretty great to many people, but there are also plenty of people didn't like it. Sure RT has high rating but the film only ranks #8 in top #10 of the year, and The Dark Knight has earn twice that amount this film has earned in 2008.

2nd film: The Incredible Hulk, not even in top #10. Plenty of people did not like it even though it was a fine film. It made only 263 millions on a budget of 150 millions. It was so unsuccessful Marvel has decided the market for Hulk is too risky and never produce another solo film since.

3rd film: Iron Man 2, many people thought this film is inferior to the first Iron Man.

4th film: Thor. It earned less than the first Iron Man. And many people think the plot is too simplistic. It did not make it to top 10 of the year.

5th film: Captain America the First Avenger. It performed worse than Thor.

It takes time for an extended universe to gain momentum. It is too early to consider DC has failed because it takes time for the characters to take root. Just consider Suicide Squad is similar to The Incredible Hulk. If Suicide Squad ends up earning more than 263 millions, it is already more successful than Marvel 2nd movie.

Summary:

QUOTE
Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced Suicide Squad in October 2014, and it was “a sprint from the start” to meet its August 2016 release date. “[Ayer] wrote the script in like, six weeks, and they just went,” a source told THR. Pushing the release date back was not an option, since Warner Bros. already had big deals signed with companies like Samsung and other merchandise partners.

Another problem — Warner Bros. hired David Ayer to direct the movie, even though he had no prior experience making a big, CGI-filled blockbuster. Seasoned directors are expensive, meaning studios turn to those with less experience, relying on instinct that they will be up to the job, THR says.

Warner Bros. executives, who were nervous about Suicide Squad since the day it was announced, grew even more nervous after the negative response to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. “Kevin was really pissed about damage to the brand,” one executive close to the studio told THR.

And then came the competing cuts. Warner Bros. felt that the movie didn’t deliver the fun, edgy tone that the “Bohemian Rhapsody” trailer captured. So while David Ayer continued to work on his version of the movie, Warner Bros. began working on another with help from Trailer Park, the company that had made the trailer.

Multiple editors worked on Suicide Squad, though only John Gilroy is credited. (A source told THR he left by the end of the process and that the final editor was Michael Tronick.)

In May, David Ayer’s darker version of the movie, and Warner Bros.’s lighter, more fun version were screened for test audiences. THR says that Ayer agreed to this, and they gathered all of the feedback and tried to reach a middle ground. In order to get the movie to that point though, millions of dollars were needed for reshoots.

THR says that a lot of “panic and ego” were involved, instead of calmly trying to address the tone issues. Things got so intense, that Ayer fired his long time agent, hired a new one, but then decided to go back to his old one just a day later. “He was under a lot — a lot — of pressure,” one source told THR.

In a joint statement to THR for there report, Ayer and Warners production president Greg Silverman said: “This was an amazing experience. We did a lot of experimentation and collaboration along the way. But we are both very proud of the result. This is a David Ayer film, and Warners is proud to present it.”

Now the pressure is on. One insider told THR that “the movie’s got to do $750 million, $800 million to break even. If they get anywhere close to that, they’ll consider it a win.” That is a huge hill to climb for a brand new superhero franchise.

So there you have it. There was a lot of behind-the-scenes drama over the last two years on the production of Suicide Squad. A David Ayer cut, a Warner Bros. cut, multiple editors, and lots of anxiety all played a part in the final product that is being released on August 5th. The critics didn’t like it, but now the fans will decide if Suicide Squad will be the $750 million hit that Warner Bros. desperately needs.

For fuck's sake WB, stop screwing DC. First they cut Snyder's version, then they made a mess with Ayer's. Reviewers don't pay the tickets, moviegoers do. Grow some balls, have some faith

Not bad. Problem is some of the characters lacked screen time. Too much on Deadshot and Harley Quinn.

Not sure if there's any cuts but there were a few times where curse words were muted.

BVS was kinda ok, but suicide squad is seriously all over the place. First 30 minutes was good, but the middle to final acts were just badly edited. Can't believe they cut out half the bar scene (the one in the trailer where HQ asks what they're having). The ending was pretty good, few laughs here and there

Just saw it and it didn't disappoint me at all. It was a million times better then guardian of the galaxy. The stupid guardian of the galaxy they defeated the bad boss by distracting him by break dancing, the most stupid and lamest idea ever but no one will bash that movie.

I really like dc movies bcs of the more serious tone that build emotions better. Don't understand why this marvel fan boy terrorist want to brain wash everybody to only make movies for people unde 12 years old???

Haha... friend bought extra tickets, ask me to join Friday night. biggrin.gif

I said "No thanks"

Skipped quite a few movies this year, and have not regretted doing so.

...regretted watching BvS, but oh well. At least I didn't see Ben Affleck's a** I heard exists in the Ultimate Edition.

This movie is a good example why executive interference is bad for a movie already in mid-production doh.gif Dafak get 2 teams to make 2 cuts of a movie then mash them together and hope they'll blend? Would have been better to release their fun version first for casuals, then later re-release Ayer's original version on Blu-ray, much like what they did with the Richard Donner cut for Superman 2. At least then we'll have 2 movies and one of them that does not compromise on the director's vision for the movie.

Pray hard that they don't pull this stunt again on WW or JL.
