Actually, the fault is that gomen/SKMM give them monopoly rights for satellite transmission. Competitors forced to use other methods, currently mostly IPTV or coaxial cable. And the problem with those methods? Expensive and slow rollout.

TM is giving away HD programming for free on HyppTV (NHK World HD, Fashion HD, Luxe HD, even the Al Hijrah is special HD feed is afaik free to view). And afaik, ABN also has one or two free HD channels. The problem with those is the availability is low and thus cannot even defeat assteruk. If the service piggyback on existing ISP like DeTV, even worse and cannot offer HD content because our internet infrastructure sucks, especially in the east coast where the infra has been unchanged since the early 2000s.

So because assteruk has no serious competition, they can torture subscribers as they please...

Hi all, I just wondering is the Astro IPTV can use both internet and also satellite? I see that in their IPTV product page they say that the satellite dish is include with the installation.

Just installed astro last wednesday (Oct 22), then today I feel like to terminate. Is it got 7 days money back guarantee or else?

Wanted to terminate because less than a week already received monthly billing and feels like Astro has started to "cekik darah". I feel very depressed and unsatisfied!.

quick question... currently i'm on mutilroom... 1st decoder is pvr.. 2nd decorder also pvr... currently they installed 1 dish with quad output lnb... what happen if wanna add the third pvr decoder (2nd multiroom) ? will they install new additional dish or just replace existing quad lnb output to lnb with 6 output ?

Based on the reply I received from Oh!K, they are working on bringing the channel to Malaysia in the near future. But who will eventually get the broadcast right is still a mystery. Since Oh!K is under Turner, so I think it's either ASTRO or HYPPTV since ASTRO has HBO, CNN & Cartoon Network which are under the same company while HYPPTV got WARNER TV.

There is a possibility of some mediacorp channels cos our friend has many JV deals there,with many astro In House channels already on Mio and Starhub.As far some MC vernacular channels of course its a dream cos if they make it here astro wl be out of business especially Vasantham and MC 8 !

The person who edited the wiki page must suffer some psychiatric issues. The list is too good to be true and even Astro said that only 6 HD & 2 SD channels coming. So 2 HD channels will be AEC & SHUANG XING. TBH, the existing channels like CARTOON NETWORK, FOX, NAT GEO WILD, DIVA, E!, MTV, CNN etc all have HD versions but yet to be featured on the lineup. So I really doubt the new HD channels will be brand new channels instead just the HD versions of the existing channels.

I am laughing out loud when i saw mediacorp channel appear at the line up. Our bolehland will never allow this to be happend. Do u know mediacorp suria is very popular among resident stay at southern malaysia. Besides mediacorp suria is not 24hr broadcast

Agreed! So is vasantham which screens latest tamil blockbusters when asstro sells it at RM15 per movie!! MC Channel 8 has excellent follow up for its dramas and series so if they make it to asstro then asstro will turn a real ass!

Oh, one more thing. Astro currently testing HITS (HD) (available only on IPTV currently) & "GO Shop" (SD) which is home shopping channel due to launch "soon" on ch.118.
