QUOTE(nexona88 @ Oct 31 2014, 06:06 PM) all point seems okay, but buying gold? gold is on down trend now, price won't go up anytime soon. also no pay dividend like ASx gold is not liquid enough as investment plus, it's high risk - u won't know if the gold bar you have in your possession is really 99.999% pure gold or just 96% gold. i can't tell any difference at all

Not sure how much it cost

QUOTE(lucifah @ Oct 31 2014, 05:59 PM) someone mentioned GST so how does GST affect ASNB purchases / selling? will we be charged GST om both transactions? if we are charged input tax, how will we claim output tax? if we sell our units, will we be able to claim for GST? or is ASNB GST exempted? I saw a mention about GST on shares, on selling. But when I went through the budget summary from the govt, no mention of that. Hope no GST on shares and ASX.

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Oct 31 2014, 07:20 PM) Suppose RM1 billion trading volume per day at KLSE, 6% = RM60 million /day. Over a year, 60*220 = RM13.2 billion pa GST extra revenue for the govt! At the expense of those who are into shares. If kena GST on selling a losing share, then it is really adding acid/salt to injury! Maybe tax is only on profit (=capital gain tax?) I thought CGT is PKR's push and BN is not implementing that at the moment. This post has been edited by plumberly: Oct 31 2014, 08:38 PM

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Oct 31 2014, 07:20 PM) only the SC has GST, am i right? that means for RM 100k purchase, a 5% SC = RM 5,000 6% GST from RM 5,000 SC = RM 300 so total SC + GST = RM 5,300 ?

QUOTE(Ancient-XinG- @ Nov 1 2014, 08:14 AM) .... Whhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. So expensive. They need to get the money for BR1M, subsidies, BIG & small projects, you-know-what, pay increases, etc. Don't mind this GST if they know how and will use the money PROPERLY for the country and citizens. Sorry, off topic.
