Hello,

Both work quite similarly. Whitening process doesn't thin your teeth but will make it sensitive for a short period of time.

Whitening brand usually varies from dentists and their comfort brand, generally Beyond, Phillips Zoom & Opalescence gives good results in my experience smile.gif

please suggest what do you is the best one? also how much roughly would it cost?

Personally as of recent I've been using Beyond whitening and been getting consistently good results with it. Different dentists may or may not have or use the same brand.

I've attached a result photo of what is to be expected with Beyond whitening, it is my personal patient photo.

Hope it helps smile.gif

Yep, still use blancone currently, not a fan of both since results are usually subpar.

We usually offer blancone if someone are looking for a more economical whitening procedure.

My 27 is buccally tilted and the distal of my 26 keeps having plague and food debris no matter how I brush just won't be able to get it away unless flossing. Any idea how I can improve this area hygiene? Because it's not always practical to floss when one is outside or working hours. And any ideas as to why a 27 molar became bucally tilted?🤔

Flossing seems like the most straightforward option for you. A floss shouldnt take much time and can be done in a toilet pretty quickly.

And most importantly flossing it at night before you sleep to remove most of the plaque and debris before you sleep then it would help to maintain health

other alternative would be to get orthodontics done to move the 27 back in line for easier maintenance

Why it became tilted? perhaps you have limited jaw space so as it grew, it grew outward, or you may have an erupting 28 wisdom tooth that may be pushing the 27 move buccal as it was before.

A real fix would be to under orthodontic treatment to align it. But now sure how are your other teeth and whether its worth to undergo ortho if just for that tooth alone.

Dear Doctor Gigi,

I know that Temporary Crown (those acrylic type) normally can break and such... then it will fall off..

Permanent crown normally are hard and wont break easily, but curious what the possibility of it to dislodge?

Maybe due to hard brushing or wrong pull from flossing?

Can happened to molar crown to dislodge?

rarely dislodge if done properly and using good cements.

not done properly would mean the support tooth is poorly prepared and lack retentive features.

sometimes eating sticky foods like gums or caramel also may dislodge the crown.

Even if the crown dislodges, keep it well and bring it back to your dentist and get it recemented back.

Hello,

The prices that you state are fairly reasonable for wisdom tooth removal by surgery in a private clinic, this of course can vary widely depending on which clinic that you visit and what is the condition of your wisdom teeth.

If you want to consider the government route, the fee for surgical removal of wisdom tooth will be Rm50. But as always expect a delay in your treatment and probably being referred to a specialist in a public hospital as not all public government clinics are equipped for wisdom tooth surgery.

Therefore, if you want it fast and comfortable, do it in private, if you have time and don't mind going for few appointments in a span of few months to have it removed cheaper then government clinic/hospital is the way to go.

Hope that answers your question. smile.gif

Thank for the reply 😊

If public how about their experience compare to private? Since involved Minor surgical trainees perform or actual dentist doctor perform 😂

I have been told public have more latest equipment compare to private this is why I thinking go for public

If public go and back waiting time how long it'll take? few months? year?

can i request specific day or they'll arrange any slot available for the day only and without option to choose the day I want 🙂

Usually actual dentists will perform your minor surgery, but sometimes depending on your luck you may get an inexperienced dentist that will be guided by another senior dentist to perform your minor surgery.

As for equipments, personally I feel private clinics will have better equipments but that also really depends on which clinic that you go to. Some private dentists do use older equipments/no x-rays.

It used to be a couple of months 2-3months pre-covid, I'm not entirely sure right now, but safe to say it could take longer as they limit the number of patients seen in government clinics/hospitals.

Mostly that'll be the case they will give you the earliest available date with no chance to choose which dates that you want.

Saw somewhere that when you brush your teeth, you're not supposed to rinse your mouth but just spit the toothpaste residue only. However, I've been rinsing my mouth since childhood. Which is the correct practice?

This came up due to the effects of fluoridated toothpastes which will require more time in contact with tooth surface for it to fully work rather than the 2 minutes or so that we brush and completely rinse off the tooth paste.

Therefore to answer your question, the correct way is to only spit and not rinse, although me personally I prefer a single really light rinse.

I'm going to take my braces off soon and planning to do teeth whitening after that. What do I need to know before proceeding with the treatment? Is it worth it? I drink latte 1-2 cup every day by the way.

I used 3D Whitecrest years ago and it did bring my teeth a few shades lighter but the teeth became very sensitive for almost a week or so. Can I reduce teeth sensitivity post treatment by using toothpaste for sensitive teeth like Sensodyne before starting the procedure?

after your whitening procedure, for the first 5 days, avoid foods and drinks that will stain your teeth. You might have to drink your latte via straw without swishing around your teeth.

You can use sensitivity toothpaste post treatment to reduce the sensitivity and eventually the sensitivity will go away as time passes.

Its inevitable that you will have some sensitivity post whitening depending on the whitening intensity you're getting. more white -> more sensitive.

Thanks for the reply.

How frequent can teeth whitening be done? A bit concerned if it can damage teeth if done frequently or improperly.
