I missed my braces appointment in June due to the lockdown. sad.gif

Does anyone have any experience or know if we are allowed to travel between Selangor & KL for >10km for dentist appointment? My clinic can produce an appointment letter upon request but I'm just worried it's not accepted by police at roadblocks.

Should be no problem.

My dentist also provides letter for my monthly braces appointment.

I’m being paranoid lol. But seriously it would be okay at police roadblocks right? Did the police you encountered question you about the appointment? I’m very nervous whenever I see a police roadblock 😂.

to be safe. request for the letter earlier and go to your nearest police station to get a confirmation or approval from the police.

Crack line rarely develop horizontally.

Sounds like an early caries developing or maybe its some tartar stuck in between.

Best is to visit a dentist and ask to check. Can even take a bitewing radiograph to assess the interproximal area.

It almost looks exactly like this photo I found on google. The brown stain seems like a horizontal line. It quite likely is caries? Will get it checked once MCO is relaxed a bit.

Reading the thread, it is recommended to keep the toothpaste in the mouth longer. Does it applies to mouthwash as well?

hard to tell just from the picture, it can be a tartar deposit (which your floss might catch or feel a bump) or even a early sign of caries(floss may probably glide through without much resistance, maybe some uneveness)

if you start having some discomfort, best to visit your nearest dentist.

toothpaste yes. for higher fluoride absorption. The best price is after brushing your teeth, just spit out the excess toothpaste and wash the outside of your mouth and allow the toothpaste remnants to stay on your teeth.

Not to mouthwash as they usually cause discoloration of your teeth.

Hi, how are you? I had lower left wisdom tooth removed last year. 15 months down the road, I feel pain in the gum area of the molar next to it (I think lower second molar). Severe 3 days pain.

Went to a dentist. Visual inspection shows cracks on crown area. Frontal and side X ray didn't show much. Light inspection shows half clear light penetration and half dark. Dentist suspect deep crack. Opened up the crown and found a long crack extending down to the nerve zone. Cleaned up the nerve, close it with molar band and a temporary crown sealed with kalzinol.

Nerve area is C shaped, dentist described it as high risk to perform root canal to save the molar. Due to risk of tool breakage, may result in having to remove the tooth.

Dentist also said that if I remove the molar, I must do an implant to replace the lost one. Do you think it is compulsory?

Thank you.

Please get a 2nd opinion on the tooth. A root canal specialist (endodontist) if possible.

Its best to think of a replacement for the area if you plan on removing it especially if you're still young and expect to have another 20+ years of function in that area.

a lot has to be assessed to whether if you ''must'' do a implant. Its not compulsory, but its always recommended.

Good morning, thank you very much. Am also thinking of a bridge instead of an implant (if the root canal doesn't work). Still awaiting the dentist to check with their clinic owner whether they are confident in doing the root canal (considering the C shape nerve). They did mention that they can refer to endodontist if they can't do in house.

Is there any government clinic or hospital that has endodontist?

If its the last tooth as you mentioned, a bridge will not be possible as it doesnt have anymore terminal support.

There are gov specialist clinics that you can visit but referral is required and do expect a long waiting time. If the tooth doesnt cause you any issue (since the nerve is removed), you can always try to get a slot with the specialists

Hi i would like to seek for advice, i installed my full zirconia crown back in June'21, it has just past 3 months+ and now the zirconia crown fractured. Would like to check if anyone experienced this before? The dentist only provide 3 months warranty and right now they asked me to re-do at a cost which is abit unfair to me.... i know that zirconia crown can last >5 years, but usually how long does the warranty last?

It varies from clinic to clinic how long they would like to be resposible for thier work. In my opinion zirconia crowns usually last way way longer than 3 months .

You can try those marketed as 'whitening' toothpaste out there,

examples colgate optic white, ora 2 white etc

But generally not recommended to use daily as they tend to be abrasive to remove stains which may remove your healthy tooth alongside.

used it once every 3 days would be ok.

Even with white teeth, you still need to go for scaling with your dentist yearly to remove hidden tartar.
