Conventional Metal braces price should range around 5k.

Few days back, not sure why all of a sudden when i brushed my bottom teeth on the right side, my gum feels kind of painful. When I floss, it bleeds. Usually it doesn't.

Is it because I might have brushed my teeth too hard which has now caused gum abrasion?

only that spot having bleeding? others fine?

gum abrasion usually will not show as bleeding, did you change new toothbrush recently?

Yes, only that area bled when I tried to floss yesterday. No bleeding when I brush it because I try to brush that area as gentle as possible to avoid pain. However, I attempted flossing just now with light motion and no bleeding. Others no issue and not painful and no, I did not change new toothbrush. Could it be..gum infection? sad.gif

possibly that area had some extra plaque buildup over that day, if you're flossing and brushing daily, I think you do not have to worry. bleeding occasionally is normal

I doubt its infection, if its an infection, you'll probably feel some boil and swelling and pain over that area already.

Update: no more painful sensation/bleeding on my gums when I brush my teeth! However, sometimes I feel a tinge of uncomfortable numb near the back area. I think it's best for me to see a dentist..

Yes they do stain your teeths , but usually its just surface stains . Just a simple polishing by your dentist will be sufficient to remove them .

usually polishing comes with scaling.

just polishing alone is rather rare unless your teeth are truly free from tartar.

Hi, i have been quoted RM2K for root canal and crowning. RM1K root canal, RM1K crowning.

Is this price expensive?

I remember my previous crowning at another clinic cost RM600 or RM800 only not too long ago.

Which tooth or teeth is it?
Different materials might cost slightly more due to esthetics?

Meaning it's either the first molar or the second premolar if you don't have your wisdom tooth.

The RCT part seems decently priced but did the practitioner mention what type of crown is gonna be used?

There's quite a few:
1. Composite resin
2. Metal
3. PFM (porcelain fused to metal) <---- Probably this is what you were offered?
4. Zircornia
5. Full porcelain.

Yes its true. A trick I like to do is to drink some plain water after done with coffee so at least the stains will not build up too fast.

If it is stained due to external substance such as coffee you'll need to go for scaling & polishing, then whitening depending on your teeth's condition

Thank you.

I was told teeth whitening can be damaging to your teeth because it applies chemicals on the teeth surface.
Is this myth or a fact?
