Finally a car from proton that does not look awkward no matter which angle we look at it from. I must say proton really did a good job this time. smile.gif

I wonder if we can install the rear wiper at car accessory centre without voids Proton Warranty,

That the only thing I don't like about Standard model of not having rear wiper

i have never used my rear wipers too. The only reason it is activated at all is because it will automatically wipe when I engage reverse gear with the front wipers on.

Just did dropby to molest the car yesterday. Outside look bigger than savvy but front occupant area smaller than swift. Had not have chance to testdrive cause only 1.3e and only inside mall no number plate. Sigh.

Wanna search for 1.6 variant testdrive unit. Gonna whack it like i whack inspira before.

So how about during heavy rain? Mostly we never use the rear wiper?

The 1.3 and 1.6 powerplant is the old Campro engine in VVT configuration?

If yes then its sad.. A nice looking car spoilt by an old rough engine.

During heavy rain also no chance to use. Quite a hefty amount to pay 4k to upgrade from standard to exec just because you need that rear wiper.

They just mention it's new engine but no name given to the new engine.
Prior to iriz launching, I also never read news about proton is developing a new engine for the pcc.
Anyone has more info about Iriz's engine?

it is just a heavily revised campro with VVT slapped in and tons of upgraded (strengthened) components. Good part is, thanks to the VVT system, power delivery is no longer rough. It feels linear. Even the revs is now smoother compared to other Campros. Still makes the same droning noise though.

If you check the plate on the driver's side, you can see the engine code is still S4PE/S4PH

Yep.. S4PH. They want to call it new engine also no problem because it is actually new in the family.

Anyway.. Premium Silver moon dust reporting in.

No wonder proton try their best not to associate Campro name with Iriz. More apparent when proton can't name the engine when in fact it already has a name ?
