Agree, 2017 Journey to the West is only good to burn time nothing else.

"Cook Up a Storm" much better, but still is not a movie that worth watching in the Cinema. Just my 2 cents.

The Great Wall(2016)

This movie is fun enough to kill your time,but..but dont expect brilliant dialogue,beautiful script and great acting that Zhang Yimou used to direct.Oh,how i miss movies like Hero and House Flying Daggers..

yeah, coming from zhang yimou, it is a disappointment.

just a simple monster fantasy story using the name of the great wall.

but i did like some of the details... the landscapes, cinematography, the costumes... and the kungming lantern-wall lit up.

and dd truehd/atmos audio made it a bit better!

stars matt damon, pedro pascal (pena of marcos), willam dafoe, andy lau, jing tian, zhang hanyu (operations mekong), eddie peng.

for the entertainment, i'll give it 2.5/5.

A smart and unpredictable film that-must watch.
the scene in which Missy hypnotizes Chris in the dead of night,
sending him to a"sunken place". It is terrifying.

yes, this one is worth watching.

low budget and not so complex story yet well scripted and witty.

the suspense buildup is good.

a horror drama film, 3/5.

watched I Am Not Your Negro



i thought im about to watch a movie like American Gangster, but its actually a documentary which turn out to be a really good one.
its getting into a little bit of america history and the racism against black people. it revolves around the peak time of 3 American civil rights leaders Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr.

im watching it without any idea which sequel is this from cause obviously theres too much Journey to the West remakes nowadays so i have a low expectation and i later found out this is the sequel from the one by Stephen Chow. no wonder the cinematography looks the same. i like it.
plus the humour really make it for me

im not saying its the best but compare to all others Monkey King(Donnie Yen) and Monkey King 2(Aaron Kwok), this one is better.

i honestly hoping for the 3rd movie.

But obviously not as grand as the beast... What I learnt from it is that, while money and big houses helps a lot!... Ones true character is the most important criteria.. If it was by money, houses and fame alone, celebrities will make the best couples and not be divorcing each other, as is the trend...

FYI, I'm not a fan.. home minister made me watch it..
