Guys, any feedback on Mitasu EO? Price range around RM234 to RM264. Pretty cheap compared to Mobil 1 gold EO.

What car you plan to use this on?

looking at oil colour and say its recycled oil, is totally very amateur.
Some additive package are very dark in colour compared to others and some base oil (depending on origin country) also varies greatly in colour.
*
Read everything properly.

What I said is comparing the colour from 2 different brands.

If from the same seller... the 2 different brands are of the same colour, it might be from used oil from the same illegal oil recycling factory but using different bottles.

If the oil colour is different, highly unlikely it is used oil since fake oil sellers won't custom blend oil dye colour according to different brands.

Is full synthetic oil good for 11 yr old car? (BLM)
*
You can use fully synthetic oil interchangeable with semi or even mineral oils.

Just make sure its the same viscosity.

But ec auto only sells online right?
No retail?
*
EC Auto is located at Batu Caves... Address: 2, Jalan Industri Batu Caves 1/3, Kawasan Industri Batu Caves, 68100 Batu Caves, Selangor

Paulhew orders are always shipped from Batu Caves also..

So I think EC Auto is Paulhew and Paulhew is EC Auto.

is it tesco no longer sell cheap shell helix ultra engine oil???

You can get the Shell Helix HX8 from Paulhew Shopee for RM109.

I've tried that oil and it is very pure and clear in colour. Hard to see the oil through the dipstick when it is new.

My car manual recommends 5w-30.

Which one is better: SHU 5w-40 or HX8 5w-30?
*
Since your car manual says the engine requires 5w-30... I would suggest you to stick with the Helix HX8 5w-30. It is a good oil for the price you're paying to be honest.

bro are u the paulhew seller? why keep promote him?

it seem a lot mix review.. prefer online seller with physical shop registration which we can go if anything goes wrong.
*
Nope.. I am not the seller.. Just a regular buyer and found that the oil he is selling is indeed genuine and at a great price.

I know fake oil when I use them.. I've been using engine oil bought from Paulhew on 5 cars for more than 2 years.. All are in great working condition.

If the oil is suspected fake and lousy.. Bet I will also be the first one to condemn him

Any one can help here.

I scaned the code on Shell Helix Ultra to find out if the oil is genuine. It brings up a link pg. Upon selecting the link it brings up Shell official website. Nothing in the web pg to clarify if oil is genuine!

What else is needed to complete the check?

It was meant to be like that..

I've tested a few Shell Helix HX8 bottles.. They all carries different QR pattern and codes upon tearing the sticker but they all will route you to the same page.

To me, if a fake oil bottle, it should use all same QR and code to route you to the same page.

IINM Mazda uses w30 oil. If you've been servicing it at regular intervals, you can stick to that weight.
*
W30 oil normally was recommended for cars year 2010 and below. Beyond that, mostly go by W20.

However, W30 oil is recommended if the driver is a heavy footer and always rev the engine to a high rpm.

Im curious, even campro can use w30s?

What if its 0w30? Was thinking bout that
*
The front number don't really matters here in Malaysia, so it if is 0w30 or 5w30, both can be use although normally, the 0w30 will be very slightly more thinner than the 5w30.

Your car owner's manual says it can use 5w30 oil?

QUOTE(The Hunt Begins @ May 22 2022, 02:26 PM)
Actually I have to first say that my engine is a campro rojak.
Head from a Persona IAFM+. Pistons from BLm and were bored out very slightly. 76.5mm. Block is the same from 2009. My campro is the basic version. Very old.

It was overhauled last year to fit in the stuff i mentioned above.

So with that said, I did some digging to find out what oil is used in which variant.
Campro normal - 20w50 (IDK why so thick)
Campro IAFM (persona) - 10w30
Campro CPS - 10w30
Saga BLM 1.3 - 10w30 (if im not mistaken)

And apparently most of the later campro models actually calls for 10w30 post 2009. I seriously dont understand why.

Final verdict, since most campro block stays the same throughout the entire engine lineup, only difference from variant to variants are maybe the heads, intake manifolds and so on. What i think is, if the bottom end of engine is similar, then I also can safely use 10w30, 5w30, 0w30 like the other campro engine's brothers...? I may be wrong though, so apologies in advance.
*
Based on your explanation, I would go for 5W40 engine oil. To me, this dinosaur engine runs best using 5w40. Fuel consumption might be slightly higher but I really think Campro is best to run on 5w40.

Hi, saw u write Paulhew here so i write some review bcos i just bought engine oil from him.

I feel his engine oil is not original, although got code at the front sticker.

1. Smell like used oil from engine and different from original oil smell. Can said is like recycle oil or original mix recycle oil.

2. Color is darker compare to original.

3. Side bottle indicator design is different.

4. Handle of bottle is different.

5. Back of bottle closure is different.

6. Bottle seal is like hard paper, original is foil.

No offence. He sell RM60++, so maybe all cheaper price oil is not original biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

Your Helix is with Thai wording at the back of the bottle?

If it is yes, the bottle and also the oil colour and smell might vary from the Helix HX5 'untuk pasaran malaysia' since they are blended and packed from different manufacturers.

I am not sure of engine oil from Thailand uses recycled oil.. But according to some forumers here, European Union mandate the use of recycled engine oil to be blended into new engine oil.

I'd normally for for the 'untuk pasaran malaysia' since in Malaysia, there's no mandate to use recycled engine oil, thus all engine oil base used in Malaysia should be new and not recycled.

Experts here already seen beyond just viscosity but base oil too. Kononnya Ultra has better base oil than HX8 so SHU should be the preferred choice.
*
Yup.. but the HX8 is already too good of an oil for most cars on the road.

Looks like Lotus is now selling Shell Helix HX8 5W30 at rm158.

The Ultra 5w40 is still priced at rm122 though.
