Found out that LM has got its own liquimoly.os shoppe store (must've have missed that earlier). But looking at the high price, I think its better to use another brand of full syn for extended oil interval changes for my car. Maybe Aisin if I can't get Helix FS on sale since the giant near my place has closed down.

Wondering if it makes sense to change just the oil filter after 6months and change both filter and EO at the yearly mark, mileage is on the lowish side.

How low is your mileage?

I am doing annual oil change as my car hardly hit 10k in a year and so far so good. Inside the engine is still very clean when I observe changing valve cover gasket.

I normally drive around 7-8k km annually as I take train to work.

Hi guys, my bmw e60 n52 petrol engine got sludge problem... recently i guess due to this sludge caused rpm unstabil and etc... I know about this Sludge problem since two years ago, and tried a few rounds short OCI , around 5k to 7k km already change oil.

Always been using Enoc Protec 5w40 full syn from my usual workshop. Two years down the road, still the same sludge, compared to previous photos from two years back, i think the sludge issue does not improve although i shortened the OCI...

Now im thinking to go a few routes to improve my engine condition:

Option 1: liqui Moly engine flush, but heard that its risky?

Option 2: Use High detergent Engine Oil, (like Shell Rimula R6?), and do a few extreme short OCI , 2000 km change once, for like 3 or 4 times... ?

Option 3: Switch to Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 from Lotus's (cheapest full syn from reputable brand and shop), and do short OCI like 2000km, for like 3 or 4 times... ?

Really worries me as I dont want to leave it just like that, and end up have to overhaul engine...

My neighbour which drives an F10 had this problem too. Happened because of BMW's 15k mileage service interval.. Due to this prolonged service interval, there was sludge building. End up engine seized and had to overhaul.. Spent 20k on it.

Pretty sure yearly mileage is quite abit below 10k as well. Do you think KK Auto Moto is an ok online store to get Synthium 3000?

is there a difference betweek sucking oil from dipstick tube and draining from the drain plug ? which one is better?
*
Draining from drain plug is always better. As you are ascertain that all the old oil are drained out.

Suction needs to move the tube around and will not extract all the oil out.

so i think its best to just use the vacuum machine.

those drain plug always lose its thread after many2 years.

number 1 cause of engine oil leaking.

just hope the pomen dont keep quiet if the tube somehow putus inside.

My car has been 14 years and no such issue noted because I DIY to ensure things are in accordance to spec.

It will occur if the mechanic over tighten the bolt which it tends to happen.

I am using Shell Helix Ultra 5W30.

Does fully synthetic oil really can go 10,000km without minor sludge buildup?

My last oil change clocked at 9,000km interval and I felt uncomfortable changing it so late. Need to do so as I travel around 90km / day now.

My usual routine is max 8,000 km for oil change interval.

From where you bought your oil? Confirm genuine?
*
Bought from reputable Shopee seller.. Either from VR Global or Paulhew.

Confirm it is genuine as oil is from Hong Kong and QR code matches with website.

Our local retailers mark up fully synthetic oil kaokao punya.

Thanks. So vrglobal and paulhew is selling genuine too? Saw their products, but still didnt buy yet as not sure genuine or not.

So products from HK can verify with qr code that leads to hk website? Any idea how to know if the products are from hk?

I see vanli selling thai products. Can this be validated by qr code?

I've been using them for many years lor... Peek inside my engine oil cap, engine is still sparkling clean as it is still in aluminium colour without sludge.

https://dasmalaysia.com/sirim-certification...ed%20by%20SIRIM.

When the above requirement comes into effect, i guess we will be forced to purchase more expensive engive oil distributed my Malaysia local dealer.

Shopee reseller may not be allow to import engine oils from other countries.

I personally don't think it will solve the fake oil issues since fake oil makers can just reprint their label to include SIRIM logo.
