Hi all,
I have a basic question actually but not really sure how to search for the answer in google
I'm frequently train my leg muscle to gain more strength. To be more specific, i train at Saturday & Sunday, and then usually take full rest from Monday to Friday. After the training at weekend, my leg muscle especially quadriceps will be sore and sometimes a little bit painful at Monday, or until the end of Tuesday. Then, I usually feel a lot better at Wednesday. When its weekend again, I continue with the training.
My question is, is this method really help in improving my leg strength in the long run? I'm kinda unsure, if I continue making my leg muscle sore will it slowly build my leg muscle and make them more fit and then later i won't be so easily sore and tired like now? Or it won't help at all because my muscle being sore means it's damaging my muscle and joint tissue and it's just a waste of energy, my recovery its just recovering the soreness but doesn't help with building the desire strength?
My friend advice me to keep going on eventhough I'm feeling tired and my leg is worn out, which I know its very brutal to do so and its a harsh method that able to help, but I'm more concern I will damage my leg muscle in the long run

no pain no gain, normal for your leg to be sore. something like its building stronger muscles replace the weak, thus leg will get stronger after each week

At first I thought so but feeling concern about this because I've been training for months but still feel the same, so not sure if this is the correct method, how long can I feel the difference?

how long can feel the difference? depend on individual. and what you expect from the training? time + patient = result.
sore is DOMS. nothing to worry about.

I respect people who trains their legs diligently , but don't u think have 2 days straight of legs is too much ? Well unless u separate one day as "push" and the other as "pull"exercises .

"push" and "pull" as in workout types.
example :
For chest bench press = push (triceps used) flyers = pull (biceps used)
or
for legs leg extension = push leg curls = pull
correct me if i am wrong. just what I've able to understand throughout reading the threads and workout journals .

I don't think training the same muscle group back to back in 2 days is good.

It is DOMS indeed... your body is not used to the strenuous exercise yet. But it will slowly adapt and the DOMS will go away gradually.
