This is not the first time I heard of this kind of scam in LYN photography section.
That's why I only buy from reputable seller or shop.

For that price you got conned. The prices for wide angle conversion lens filters are not so high. They are cheap filters to get the wide angle look at a low cost. They are NEVER as good as a real wide angle lens, which by the way you can get one less than 1000 for canon nowadays.

Here are some of the wide angle converters for reference on what the price should be:
http://www.miyamondo.com.my/store/home.php?cat=3205
For the 67mm it should be only RM250.

But it doesn't matter that thing is utter useless crap. I got pushed to buy it by the Wanchai Computer Center guy in Hong Kong when I was buying the 50mm F1.8. Imagine a guy pushing saying that for RM150 you can convert the 50mm f1.8 into a 22.5mm f1.8 lens. They know beginners dunno how to test it. You put it on the camera it will give you the wide look. But once you but it on the big screen the image quality is so shit you'd vomit.

Lesson learn never buy anything additional without knowing what it really is or the know the actual price of it. And learn to tell the sleazy shop NO! Usually these are the shops that present a super cheap price lens/cameras and they prey on you to buy marked up lens accessories like filters and lens hood. They will even mark up third party batteries to RM150. So yeah many not honest at all shops even in Hong Kong. And now the infamous Singapore case about a Vietnamese tourist.

I still remember I got a cheapo 52mm uv filter for a Hoya UV filter price when I am getting my 70D and my 50mm F1.8.
I asked the shop whether they have Hoya brand filter or not and they said they don't have. doh.gif

Getting my 6D from KLDSLR soon

Want to ask, i dont get what is viewfinder, i know it is the hole u look thru it.

But what does it says by 97% coverage(6D) and 100% coverage?(5dmkiii, 1DX)
in comparitive it is just a 3% diffrent, practical this number is relative small. but it is so important that will affect ur photography?

I feel more stupid haha. I bought the EOS M from a seller in LYN forum (pm me if anyone interested), charged me rm100 for a rubbish kenko blank filter, which is just plain glass and flares like hell in direct sunlight. Went back to him to ask for exchange since it was only few days apart, he gave many excuses end up I told myself never go to that shop again.

why those sellers always so stupid want to earn people little extra money buy lost 1 customer forever. even worse when I go to another shop in Lowyat Plaza which I bought my 550d last time (not at a very good price) and ask if they sell yongnuo 560ii flash, the same seller who sold me 550D answered 'we don't sell such cheap flash, no quality china things always break apart'.

Nope.
I can roughly estimate how much that extra few% covers anyway.

It's tough getting conned but it does happen.
They'll probably give you a really hard time if you try to swap now.
Just have to google the price/shop/advice before getting anything in the future.
With a smartphone and a good internet, it's easy to google on the spot too.

70D is far better than the outdated 60D.
60D is a pretty good camera on it's own though.... so just go outside and do your best to make your money's worth.

the actual picture you taken slight more than what you see thru viewfinder, that little part of your viewfinder at side is covered

example like this, you see thru viewfinder only area of the red box, but your actual picture is at white box. (this is just example, that not really illustrate 97% coverage, if not mistaken is 95% coverage)

jz forget it, and go explore ur new camera, u cant change anything now
what i can tell is, the salesperson is not really responsible, there are more different between 60D and 70D. he is like want to clear the 60D stock in his shop.
suggest to do some research of price and item detail before you get anything, for the thing u not really use or not sure what is that, hold your hand from getting it.

I am not really expert when it comes to filter, so I don't really know what is the actual price for that little piece of glass. furthermore when he says kenko, i thought it's the multi coated one which is not bad I think, but end up he sold me the plain glass.

it's not easy to con on a camera + lens, but all those accessories are the main culprits.
