Just a heads up, Canon prices are going to increase by 15-20% on 1st Jan. So anyone on the fence on buying Canon gears better do it soon. smile.gif

biggrin.gif The release of that 10-18 with IS made it so difficult for me to dispose of my aged 10-22.

Really no reason for anyone to go for a 10-22 these days.

10-18 + 18-55 + 55-250 - excellent budget trio.

Most likely, several shops have already confirmed they received the notice and new listing from Canon of a 15-20% hike. Not bad considering most tech stuffs have already revised their pricing months ago, so we still managed to enjoy the old pricing a little longer...

yep, new price jump is substantial...
e.g 50mm STM now RM518
16-35mm F4L IS now RM4,134
70-200mm F4L IS now RM5,212

Gonna collect my 50mm and 16-35mm later tonight smile.gif

15-20% is pretty substantial.
Well, at least that means second hand gear retains its value too.

True this. Hahaha. Slightly better, but a bit more money on the damage might be to replace the kit 18-55 with a 17-50mm f2.8. nod.gif

The old pricing only applies to old/current stock that the retailer has in their shop. Apparently Canon stopped supplying old prices stock effective 23rd December. So better hurry your dad to buy the lens before retailers run out of stock as they are now unable to place their order with Canon for the old prices

haha apparently 24-105 is as good/slightly better than the old version according to lens rental's test. Unless you want 2.8, even the 24-70 f4 version is better.

Finally received it. My last purchase for the year... Was eyeing this for some time but price tag put me off a bit.. But found an amazing deal which listed it at nearly 50% off biggrin.gif

Anyone here tried the canon 100mm usm macro lens before? This is the version before they came up with the L range..
