There is a report out on environmental impact studies. Displayed in DOE, MBPJ, etc. I think it should indicate the proposed station locations and route.
*
Mind to explain what is the meaning of DOE? Can public check this in the place as mention in prasana notice? Do we need to pay RM500 to view the report?

Department of Environmental = DOE

No need notice, it's for public to review the report. RM500 is to purchase the report. However, some parties are requesting software copy of report to be available online. Yet to be confirmed for online report.

I still think the LRT will add little value to klang as the time taken to go KL will be at least 30min longer than normal due to many stations...Going damansara is ok ...like the kelana one.

But during peak hours, the jam in klang town, kl city and anywhere in between can double up what we usually take to travel to KL from Klang and vice versa.

KTM klang to KL sentral is 55min i think.. LRT bkt tinggi to BU will be more than 1 hour based on 20 plus stops.. driving time to klang ktm is around 8mins from bkt tinggi.. Feasibility will increase if they cut down a few stations.. If ppl frm botanic go KL, they will use KESAS n cut into NPE.. my friends say driving thru jln langat is reli long/jam during peak hours.

Yes,during peak hours klang to KL is double of nonpeak via federal. I think jams in klang will become much worse when the LRT is undercon. good for long term investors.

The reason why KTM takes so long is cause at some stretch, the train slows down like crazy and sometimes stop for a while due to operational procedures. I believe LRT is a much better solution than KTM. Having said that, it will not impact ppl who use KTM to go to KL as it still is a better option. The LRT will benefit those that works in Shah Alam or Damansara area where previously they have to take the KTM to Sentral before taking the LRT back towards PJ, most likely they can now interchange at 1 of the stations and head directly to PJ.

Peak hour from Klang KTM to/from Bukit Tinggi can take anywhere from 15mins to 30mins actually. So instead of driving and get tired from peak hour rush, can now chillax in the LRT until near home liao.

I also think once these public transportations (MRT and LRT) are done, traffic in KL and surrounding areas will be much better. I personally prefer to use public transport, but forced to drive around due to the inadequacies of the current public transportation systems.

Just the 2 cents from a Klang boy.

Haha yes.. But the ktm is getting btr apparently. When the LRT extension is complete, one can take the ktm to subang n then use the LRT straight to asia jaya, kl sentral, KLCC etc.. I forsee the KJ LRT crowd to be much greater when a lot more ppl use the LRT after the extension is complete, integrate with KTM n BRT..

I understand tht LRT 3 will be integrated with the KJ LRT extension at glenmarie so one can move over to other rail lines in glenmarie.. i don't expect a lot of TOD's in Klang with the LRT although a few might pop up in Shah Alam.. Im thinking Lead/AEON n BBT ONE/tesco being the only ones in klang for now n shah alam will see i city, sec 14, stadium (TTDI Sentralis) n maybe something in glenmarie. smile.gif smile.gif

If I were to travel to PJ or KL, I would take the LRT.

So yes, it will be positive to Klang.

Definitely the LRT has positive impact to Klang....people who want to go Damansara or KL has more option.....it also improve the connectivity between north and south Klang....

Currently if travel between Jalan langat to Jalan Meru during peak hour is very congested.....it also improve connection to Shah Alam....

Based on the unconfirmed alignment....if the final station is at Johan Setia.....it would have more positive impact as there is more empty land in this area.....

I would say the impact is very positive

Of course very positive impact. Johan Setia n Kampung kebun is the last mega plot of land in Klang.. klang is almost fully developed.

I think main point is to encourage people to use public transportation. Right now so many people are actually driving or using motorcycles. For us lucky few we can drive la no problem but there are a lot of people out there that resorts to badshape buses and kapchais. Better if we see less motorcycles on the road lor.

Travel time would still be acceptable. KTM takes 1 hour from Klang to Sentral. If wanna go KLCC another 15 mins on the LRT. End up same same lor.

by the way, has anyone done a study on how many pct of ppl working in factories will use LRT/ktm to work cos as far as the ktm is concerned with many factory beside in all those section in shah alam, i hear very few ppl use the ktm to travel as most factories r nt very closeby n mus take a shuttle bus or cab thr. most factories also provide enuf parking so the gov't must provide incentives fr companies to encourage public transport in the future drool.gif

I believe not really many lar...the location of KTM station is not so near to factory....

Btw....currently prasana are doing public feedback on environmental impact on LRT 3... So it that means soon they will do public display?
