Wow bro u even sold your m9 for it... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Anyway which lens are you using with it? Considering switching over to mirrorless as well, but fuji's a little too pricey, will be going with a6000 |

QUOTE(QiAnG @ Aug 31 2014, 08:09 PM) Wow bro u even sold your m9 for it... If you want "better " first party prime lenses, slightly cleaner high ISO performance, and slightly better OOC JPEGs - the Fuji has an edge there. Anyway which lens are you using with it? Considering switching over to mirrorless as well, but fuji's a little too pricey, will be going with a6000 Unfortunately, AF on the Fuji (even the E2) is slower, video is totally crap, the body and whole system is a whole lot more expensive AND the the entire X system is considerably less compact. As for good A6000 lenses, if you want the very best and want things slightly wide, the 1.8/24z. If you want things really, really sharp, the Zeiss Touit 1.8/32 is prolly the sharpest you can get. For other lenses, the Wirecutter has a great article on selecting lenses for the E mount: http://bit.ly/Y3dRcy This post has been edited by Eiraku: Aug 31 2014, 08:56 PM |

QUOTE(themanwithnoname @ Aug 31 2014, 06:42 AM) Nice color right... just like the output of my M9 haha Yes, I was just about to say that. It looks very "Leica". Anyway, in camera i set to standard, Adobe color setting. Then in post i just put in LR and slide the black down. btw, do you think putting the rather cheap prime Sony E 50 F1.8 OSS on the A6000 can see noticeably sharper and better IQ than the kit 16-50? Please advice. Thanks! |

QUOTE(yok70 @ Aug 31 2014, 10:05 PM) Yes, I was just about to say that. It looks very "Leica". Any of the Sony primes are better than the kit. And the "rather cheap" 50mm is actually one of the best in the lineup lol, at least when It comes to sharpness. Bokeh even more so.btw, do you think putting the rather cheap prime Sony E 50 F1.8 OSS on the A6000 can see noticeably sharper and better IQ than the kit 16-50? Please advice. Thanks! Question is, is 50mm (75 mm on crop) a usable focal length for you? As for the Metabones EOS AF adapter, apparently it works. But AF is VERY VERY slow. However, it's already V2 or V3 now and the A6000 AF is considerably faster than any Nex before it - so who knows if it's already a bit more usable now. For critical applications like sports or catching the kids maybe not though, but for less demanding applications maybe. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Aug 31 2014, 10:37 PM |

QUOTE(magicalass @ Sep 1 2014, 02:27 AM) sifus, any tips on choosing a good tripod ? I hve its similar siblings.. and using the same ball head. Got it during Raya promotion. great product. It could support my +2kg, 400mm lens with no issues.. height about photographer's height, shud be rather heavy to prevent shake ( about how heavy? for a6000 ) anybody tried these https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3332150 ? You can total strip the legs for clean up if you decide to take it to sandy places.. it is an important issue to me because I use it at the seaside all the time an salt /sand corrosion is an issue. |

Fuji is superior in ISO and Lens performance too.. but superior in price too... once i had XE1+35mm f1.4+18mm f2 ( at that time no other fuji lens available ) + gariz half case and thumb up grip.. very frustrated with AF. Whats more that M9 that full time manual and slow to play back pictures. Lotsa PP for that DNG Leica files to get the look.. Unfortunately, AF on the Fuji (even the E2) is slower, video is totally crap, the body and whole system is a whole lot more expensive AND the the entire X system is considerably less compact. Never gonna miss that decisive moments anymore. Different people different style of shooting.. QUOTE(yok70 @ Aug 31 2014, 10:05 PM) Yes, I was just about to say that. It looks very "Leica". QUOTE(Ah hao @ Aug 31 2014, 10:01 PM) the karma of kiasu treat it as a lesson, bro the pz 16-50 at 16mm vignet is quite serious, even noticeable on camera lcd, is it A5100 or common problem with 16-50? anyway, SELP1650 have serious vignetting at wide end, especially with aperture F3.5. smaller aperture would slightly fixed the matter |

Still thinking which kit to go with, either 10-18/samyang 12, then the rest i think maybe the 20 pancake and 35 prime, limited budget have to plan properly, lol. else just get kit lens and play around with it 1stQuestion is, is 50mm (75 mm on crop) a usable focal length for you?
