most of 3rd party brand external flash is full manual. it also means that's no any auto mode for it. thus, before u take picture, u must set everything, including the flash power. inexperience user may result of underexposed or overexposed

According to the manual it can charge your camera together without fast charge mode, so technically you can charge your phone also

the power the camera accept is 5V, internally control to 4.2v to charge the batter. so its safe to charge it via the camera.

as for 3rd party charger, please check if they provide proper 4.2v.

normally yes, 4.2 batter can be charge via overvoltage 5V, just the battery wont have long life.. (shorter by 10% maybe?) and prone to leakage(may lead to explosion) if charge 3rd party batteries.

btw BC-QM1 i think it auto adapter the ratio 8.4v 1.4A... coz it support the bigger camcorder 8.4v battery too.

so when using 4.2v, it half the amp to 0.7A?

The Nissin i40 is full TTL capable, BTW. And it's available for around RM500-600.

The ONLY con the i40 has vs first party Sony flashes is that it cannot do wireless master, though it can pretty much do wireless slave (and optical slave for cameras with no built-in WL master capabilities like the A6k).

Noted.

There's also a few others that do TTL (Metz and some of the bigger Nissins), but most need the Sony hotshoe adapter thingamajig to work (as they're mostly designed for the old hotshoe)... so I'm not sure whether to include them in the group.

In general though, *like you said*, most of the cheaper off-brands (Yangnuo and whatnots) usually don't come with TTL for Sony, especially not for the newer cameras with the new hotshoe. Most are manual only which can be kinda PITA.

Unfortunately.

Received my items yesterday, quite fast consideredI paid on Monday. Manage to grab the soft case, battery and the charger. The charger is huge and the bag is very good. How I wish they could include sel35f18 in the sales.
