In updater's menu option, I only see reboot into recovery mode. Are you mean this option?
After reboot, I don't see clear cache, instead I saw Wipe & Reset. Is this mean clearing the cache?

Dunno anyone notices this before, i cannot transfer my file with Sony[really this particular brand only] with NFC. Mi3 with Nexus 4, other samsung phone totally no prob... WTF? Tried Z1, Xperia Z tab... no result! China and Japanese phone not suitable with NFC?

Try experimenting like power button slightly faster than volume button, or reversed.


Not about the phone but rather the NFC reader itself, lots of types and not all follow standard

you put your sim into simcard adapter first?

I do notice that, after i clear the cache, the settings of the apps or permission level has to reallow it again. So do in some of the apps they will ask permission to read yr contact list or network. etc etc .. for me i just allow it or uninstall then reinstall the apps again.

Sooo... apparently a reset/wipe solves some people's problems with frozen boot.

I still havent encounter frozen boot so far after the update, maybe my apps/data still lesser. But MIUI apps permission level is really powerful that until voice command "ok google now" is not functioning until had to open the google search apps.

i agree on this, it is so powerful
before installing apps, you will get prompt all those permissionn is needed which you agree and install it.
but after install it. miui still have it disable
so you need to manually allow it again (if you miss the security prompt)

Hi anyone here facing Facebook and Google maps unable to detect location using WIFI or 3g? Outdoor using GPS is no problem. But when you are indoor using network to determine location it's not working for me after the latest official update

Depends what "indoor" you talking about, if normal landwd property no problem, commercial building like 30-40 storeys & i at middle or lower floor & far from windows then non of my current phone can lock into gps, either Samsung, Black Berry, Nokia or Xiaomi can't do that.

In fact my Mi3 can lock to gps faster after the update, then again could be apps update since i get goggle map uodate after Mi3 KK update.

Mine is a condo. Normally if there is no GPS signal the data connection will provide the location(might not be accurate). I have 2 mi3 one on older 4.3 able to use google map to determine location in the condo through data.

kuching side effected as well, funny thing was it happen on my cozen unit (who buy my mi3).

Suspect the line prob as no issue on digi line

Max SOT should 4-6 hours. AFAIK wechat and FB official apps suck battery quite high

I used S2 also that time. I can say from from experience, depends on the driver too.

mine with custom rom with different modem driver (i think mine was EU version) because more stable at my place.

I think that's the GPS problem we are facing, but I think you put it better. GPS works outdoor, but once in door the GPS (or data or wifi) does not work, rendering Map, Google Now etc useless
