Inm, hdr mode depend on the lens type.

HDR mode is software based. Take 3 photo at different exposure and average it out. Nothing to do with camera at all. You don't even need Camera to do HDR. Your PC also can do HDR. Just provide 3 picture to PC and use PC to do HDR.

I just updated mine to 4.7.22, doesn't feel very smooth.

for app data, go to System folder > Backup > Back Up (bottom of screen).

For sms and contact, can use Mi Cloud. Just sync it to mi cloud. System folder > Mi Cloud > u'll see contacts and sms.

Upgraded to 4.4.2 yesterday, had problems like others here:
- dropped calls when receiver picks up (Maxis mobile to Maxis mobile)
- dropped calls after 1-2 minutes (Maxis mobile to landline)
- Bluetooth service crashes. Can pair but crashes when connecting

Wasted one day wiping, flashing, testing, downgrading and setting everything up again. Not much benefit from the brief time with 4.4.2. In normal use, phone seems no faster.

I suggest not upgrading until the next version is released...
