i updated to v18 yesterday, but alot of bugs..
- whatsapp and telegram notification didnt work when end all task, although already on auto-start. it worked on v14.
- apps behaving weirdly
tried to do a full wipe and reinstall everything but same thing.

downgraded back to v14 and everything works nicely now.

wont upgrade for now till they fix it.

why they don do testing before simply release with bugs...

yea..dont know why they just release it public..on the bright side it was easy to downgrade.

yes. downgraded to v14 too just now. need to fastboot flash to v4.3 (CN MIUI) via miflash before i could proceed to update MY rom.

in v18:
readme app doesn't work - keep loading and saying cannot download content

only has zhuyin pre-installed as default chinese input, not like v14, u hv 4 options to choose from. (swiftkey, pinyin, google keyboard and etc)

when reset phones, sometimes google app missing (why is this so), no internet browser, no google app, no mi market... this is crazy. but i saw kuaipan or etc.

seriously messed up the phone after updated to v18, available memory seem reduced to 1060MB compare to v14 which is about 1280MB

Can you teach me how to downgrade ?.Suffer with drop call & hang my phone.
Inb4..umobile here but maybe related with maxis, so same affected.

V18 for me so far

Pros: can play asphalt 8 in maximum display setting. Somehow better 3g reception, I'm using digi btw.

Cons: attaching images file to Lowyat forum a bit not nice because cannot straight go to quickpic to select photo. Occasional WhatsApp delay. Device run hotter when playing asphalt 8, but maybe due the higher setting.

does root guide for v14 can still be applied to v18 firmware?

hmm..after all v18 not that bad

V18 is actually good. Except for Maxis users.

Anyway, the OTA update been pull off last night. So less "victims" for now. Whoever want to update to V18, can go to miui forum and download from there.

Yea mine is DEV ROM.

Swift Key doesn't seem very smooth. In fact to load any apps seem to face similar problems, a slight lag. Hope they fix this because I havce never really faced issues like these before.

Let me guess. Yours are using other country's rom. China?

Yeah, not bad. I'm not quite happy with v14 because cannot play asphalt 8 with maximum setting.

I've been using android since the éclair, so a few bug here and the kind of immune already, as long as no problem with making and receiving call.

i just cant accept that the upgrades kill certain stuff when it was working all along. totally not a good patching rollout i can say.

v22 or 4.7.22?

All of you should perform a full reset reformat your phone after upgrade to the latest firmware.

after upgraded to the latest ROM,
I found GPS has minor problem.
Then I saved my data and perform a full reset (and erase everything).
Now my phone is perfect and the latest ROM actually fixed a lot of bugs.
Whatsapp voice issue fixed. Phone calls voice quality improved.
FM sound improved etc...



PS +- does this work ? i'm been afraid of downgrading as i am not sure what i'm doing .. there's just too many version .. does this help ?? please advice

stable rom is v21 now. anyone who got problem with v18 can try flashing latest v21...

where's v21 ? using the phone auto update can ?

I'm happy on my surprise dev rom. Kinda like a miui v6 preview.. no problems so far. Touchwood.

Got the feeling to flash back to v14 though.. but downloading big size roms is a pain in the *ss..

Antutu score went out slightly. Dev rom reminds me to switch to performance mode before starting the benchmark.

And battery saving mode is not available on the 4.7.22 dev rom
