After using this phone for 2 days... I think the value for paid for the device is good. we get a decent 5 incher, with 720p, a 2GB ram and decent battery life. its smooth for daily usage.

What I like most is the ability to control startup apps and protected apps which my note 3 does not have. I think it is similar to greenify - correct me if I'm wrong.

2 days too early to comment about performance

QUOTE(suadrif @ Jul 19 2014, 11:02 AM)
Guys,
i found a noticeably lag when i open messages but other navigation is all damn smooth. any idea why its only lag in messages? the keyboard and send message only appear 2-3 seconds after i hit enter

another one is, anybody tried send any file via Bluetooth? i found that the Bluetooth connectivity is really slow. it takes about 7-8 minutes to transfer a MP3 song size of 7MB.

Ya scrolling messages is laggy, but im not experiencing the keyboard part. Use the default google swype keyboard, feels faster than huawei swype.

QUOTE(creative zn @ Jul 19 2014, 11:54 PM)
Guys, may i know how is the performance for this phone? Asking this because it still using Mediatek MT6582 instead of the new MT6592 proc. I'm currently using RedMi Note which is equipped with MT6592, and it is snappy and fast.

No idea on the MT6582, and it just 1.3GHz per core. Does it fast enough to run multitask or any lagging sort of that?

Thanks in advance.

Performance so far so good after 1 month plus of usage. Just got some very minor lags sometimes.

Coming from Nokia 3210, Moto Razr V3x, Nokia E61, Samsung P780, HTC HD2, iPhone 4, Lenovo S890, Lenovo P780, Alcatel Idol X and currently LeMoto K910.

Got the H3C unit from Lazada with RM50 discount. Playing for one week already... It's rooted 4.2.2 Jelly Bean under B113 ROW ROM. Here's my comments about this unit:

A=Android=EmotionUI 2.0 Lite Jelly Bean is acceptable. Little junk apps.
B=Body-Built=Huawei managed to make the plastic feel 'acceptable'. Buttons are nicely placed and decent feedback. Capacitive buttons without lighting is truly design flaw.
C=Call quality=Second place after my previous Moto RAZR V3x. You can get reception even inside elevator or basement one.
D=Data=HSPA+ modules for micro-SIM 1 are the best out of all phones I've own. Bluetooth is stable.
E=Email=Email client is flexible compared to other Android-based phones. They work as intended.
F=Free-apps=None which is shame. I was hoping lifetime Whatsapp license just like the Alcatel Idol X.
G=Games=Light gaming is acceptable. Heavy ones it struggles.
H=Hangouts= Video call for Skype, Google Hangouts, Tango etc. is acceptable for 5MP front facing camera.
I=Internet=AOSP browser is smooth. Slight checker-board effect on heavy websites.
J=Juice=2300mAh="Excellent". Claimed talk-time, stand-by time, etc. are achievable for dual-standby-micro-SIM phone. Power consumption during idle state is 2% from 11pm to 5am. Daily usage can threaten my previous LeMoto P780.
K=Kamasutra ;-) =Phone vibrates with notification/ringtone. Vibrating sensation is average. Not suitable for ladies yet... LOL...
L=Loudspeaker=loud with DTS manipulation. But crack if treble is too high. Bass is above average.
M=Music=Again the DTS technology does its magic.
N=Navigation=Working as expected. Lock satellite within 10 seconds. Waze and Google Maps are working normally, even indoors. The MTK SoC has grown up a little bit in GPS department.
O=One-hand Operation=I have "big" hands and "long" fingers ;-) No further comment.
P=Picture=8MP is acceptable with limited camera features/modes.
Q=Quirks=Customised-Android is stable. No quirks.
R=Radio=FM virtual radio app is OK. As usual, needs earphones to work as the antenna.
S=Sound=Earphone sound is OK. Speaker-phone is OK too but crack if too loud. The DTS manipulate the sound brilliantly.
T=Texting=Default "Huawei-Swype" keyboard is acceptable. No need to replace with SwiftKey.
U=User-Interface=smooth & flexible with various themes to choose. Thanks to the 2GB RAM.
V=Video=Capturing 1080P video is acceptable. Auto-focus is acceptable.
W=WiFi=The best out of all smartphones that I have own. Others only manage to get 1- 2 bars in my basement floor test. But H3C gets 4 bars without fail.
X=X-factors=For RM499 dual-SIM phone with 2GB RAM supported by LTPS display and DTS technology is worth every penny. Strong voice/data/Wi-Fi reception is a desperate move for those who live in the outskirts or camping sites.
Y=YouTube=The 5.0 LTPS screen plus good speaker is enjoyable.
Z=Zero-figure. Original unit at Malaysia Ringgit RM499-point-zero-zero is a smart move with mid-low internal specs.

CONCLUSION : Buy it if you are looking for budget phone or even dreaming to explore Android world before leaving iOS, Windows Phones, Blackberry, Symbian, etc. Gonna hand over this unit to senior family members.

Wifi is excellent.

If I have any issues with this phone it would be:

1) Volume even when set to maximum is not loud enough (for both music and ring tone). But for music, this can be resolved by using 3rd party player like Power Amp. However, I prefer stock player better as it is easier to navigate and can recognise files inside "folders" -- which I drag and drop from PC. Power Amp is free only for trial period and UI is quite messy.

2) I find DTS basically useless as it distorts the sound so I switched off the feature.

Other than the 2 issues above, really nothing to complain at all for the price. If you are on the border between Redmi1s and H3C, get H3C.

Caveat: I am speaking from a user who never plays games. I just use it for communications (whatsapp, wechat, skype, voice calls. A gamer may have different preference.
