Hi, I'm visiting Kansai (Kyoto-Nara-Osaka-Kobe-Nagoya) this December, any must see/must eat there? And is it suitable to use a Kansai Thru Pass? Please advise.

Don't understand why wouldn't it be safe.

You can continue to Google what's the temp like in autumn.

will be going to Tokyo and Kyoto. Still having problem understanding the rail station in Japan. Landed at Narita Airport. For a week travel in Japan, what your suggestion, take a JR pass or just just use the pasmo card? thank you in advance.

If you're taking the Shinkansen at least twice (assuming you arrive in Tokyo and depart from Tokyo), then it will be worth it. For the convenience and the cost as well. The slowest Hikari bullet train will set you back about RM480 one way 180 mins. Nozomi which is the fastest at 150 mins, is about RM40 more and it saves you only 30 mins. Add the fact that you can use it on JR lines and buses, it may save you a lil bit of money and added value of convenience.

JR Pass at current exchange rate is about just under RM900. So, if you're only flying in Tokyo and departing from Osaka, then it's probably not worth it since you're only taking the bullet train once.

Pasmo cards only works on metros/subways and saves you about 5 Yen per trip. The rail looks complex but you'll get the hang of it after several purchases. The complexity of it is when looking for the correct line to take, especially at the bigger stations like Shibuya/Shinjuku.

My third trip is coming in November. BANZAIIIIIII .... thumbup.gif

Hi, I would be going to hakone using the romance car and the hakone free pass. May i know how do i board the train back from hakone to shinjiku? Cause I did not purchase the romance car from hakone to shinjiku.

Is it a must to purchase it? And if i dont, the type of train that i board from hakone to shinjiku need to stand all the way? Cause im having my aunt and kid with me (age 60 and 6), it will be difficult for them to stand for 1 hour plus

you can take the odakyu odawara line from Odawara St to SHinjuku St (i forget whether this is covered by the free pass or not, google it out ya). During my trip, the train was not pack. Easy to get seats.
