QUOTE(testkindtest @ Jul 9 2014, 11:50 PM) You're paranoid. Don't worry and just relax. These things take some time to update their website. Going on trips yourself is much more fun than travel agent packages. |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Jul 17 2014, 03:35 PM) Hi guys first visit to japan in May-June 2015. Osaka there more things to see. Definitely visit Kyoto. Landing in Nagoya and going out from Osaka. Obviously will explore Nagoya / surrounding and then move to Osaka. Any general tip on itinerary for me to make the best out of my trip? Day trips around the two cities? Looking at something like 7 - 10 days in total. Kobe and Nara maybe? |

QUOTE(masterelr @ Jul 30 2014, 09:46 PM) Thanks. ¥245 is really cheap. Over here its about RM23++. I can buy all those in the pic here except for the vanilla one though. I'll probably be buying a whole bag of them back to distribute. It's the only gift that I can think of that people will actually like, and will last longer compared to cakes. Jusco selling at about RM17 the other day. Got some promo for the Green Tea one. |

QUOTE(hty1988 @ Aug 20 2014, 08:11 PM) Great find! I didn't know such topics exist here. hahaha. Been to Japan many times and still haven't master the language. You're not a newbie la. I recognize your "deal with it" attitude from Cupid Corner. I know. I'm didn't read the Rules N regulations. Why are you so uptight? I'm a newbie. And when was I uptight? I just linked you some other threads for your reference as you are interested in the language and culture. Me myself also interested in learning the language, hopefully before my next trip to Japan |

QUOTE(notoriousfiq @ Aug 23 2014, 07:50 PM) Guys I did a "panic buying" at AA cheap fare. Ended up flying in & out Nagoya this October. A bit regret that now I have to U-turn back to Nagoya to fly back, but there was no other cheap ticket that time. Also, it's not cheap, it's actually free. Pay for the minimal fee/tax only. Go and check out places nearby Nagoya and see what interest you. October is so damn near, aargh, what am I doing? Not prepared. No research. Not enough money. Backpacking freaking alone. For now the plan is - To find youth hostel, or BB, usual backpackers place. - Not going to buy crazy ass expensive JR Pass. - Thinking of getting those "daily passes" Kampung posted. - Also the Willer bus sounds attractive, saving hotel one night! - I know internet is a pain in the ass in JP, eventhough that's very important for such unplanned travel! To research. - Not even sure going to Osaka or Tokyo Info: - The trip is 9 days long (excluding the 2 flight days) - Usual tourist spot such as temple or themepark is not main priority since I'm on extremely tight budget (not that interested anyway) http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e623a.html Transportation isn't cheap in Japan, hence why JR pass is actually worth it if you are taking the shinkansen a lot. Do some homework before expecting people here to spoonfeed you. Kampung had mentioned about portable internet before if I'm not mistaken, not that expensive and good coverage too. So no pain in the ass there. |

QUOTE(notoriousfiq @ Aug 23 2014, 08:35 PM) Calm your t!ts, nobody is expecting you to spoonfeed anyone. It is a pain in the ass compared to other country. You will get that response from the rest of the members on this thread anyway. I actually find Japan quite easy to travel around with tons of info on the net, easy to move around with public transport too. |

QUOTE(AeronBabe @ Aug 26 2014, 05:49 PM) I'm actually not worried, I still plan to go if they don't wanna go but going with friends on holiday are more fun. But just want to convince to them, just because there's radiation there, doesn't mean we have to boycott it Try talking to them but can't force them if they don't want to. I think you are better off going with others that are not concern about it. If any of them get sick after coming back from that trip, they might blame you for it. QUOTE(notoriousfiq @ Aug 28 2014, 05:13 PM) RM850.00 ? That's craaazy. Use HyperDia to help you. If you get JR pass, then make full use of the JR pass by taking shinkansen, JR trains and buses. Calm down, sifus sekalian, I don't have a detail plan yet, nor made reservation/check availability. Plan-plan only. The objective is to (from Nagoya) visit Magome and then Noto Peninsula, that’s it. Nagoya -- (JRtrain) --> Nakatsugawa -- (bus) --> Magome -- (hiking trail) --> Tsumago -- (infrequent bus) --> Nagiso -- (local train) --> Matsumoto -- (highway bus) --> Takayama -- (JRtrain) --> Toyama -- (JRtrain) --> Nanao -- (rental car) --> Noto Peninsula -- (rental car) --> Nanao -- (JRtrain) --> Kanazawa -- (JRtrain) --> Nagoya Bus or train is interchangeable, whichever is available or less-confusing. So many buses and trains I have to take, I think in the end I have to get JR Pass. ![]() 3rd Oct – Touchdown at Chubu, Nagoya 13th Oct – Fly out from Chubu, Nagoya Days not fixed (haven’t book accommodation) Transport wishful thinking (haven’t check availability) Early plan only, ya. Calm down everyone.. Of course will go into detail more after this. For now I have only read japan-guide.com I only have 1 months left to research. Hopefully I’ll make it in time, otherwise… Travel one person want to rent a car? QUOTE(solsekuin44 @ Aug 28 2014, 05:29 PM) I have booked a package of flight tix and hotel, 6D5N - Nagoya end of May next year. What you mean what should you do with the public transport ticket? What should I do with the public transport tix now? |

Anyone booked flights with Peach airlines before? I'm trying to book my flight via their website and it keeps coming up error processing my payment. Ask me to change CC or use another payment method which is Peach points (which I don't have). Have tried few CCs and still same error message.
Edit: Nvm, changed browser and all is good. Except the price went up This post has been edited by munkeyflo: Sep 10 2014, 02:37 PM |

QUOTE(Scrambler @ Sep 26 2014, 04:15 PM) will be going to Tokyo and Kyoto. Still having problem understanding the rail station in Japan. Landed at Narita Airport. For a week travel in Japan, what your suggestion, take a JR pass or just just use the pasmo card? thank you in advance. Depends on your itinerary. Are you taking the shinkansen to Kyoto? And how many times will you be using the shinkansen? You can calculate the rough fare for shinkansen on hyperdia. If the cost to take shinkansen is more than 1 week JR pass, then you will be better off getting the JR pass. Otherwise, you don't need the JR pass. The plus point of JR pass is that you can also use all other JR lines around Tokyo. But Tokyo metro is more convenient to use. If you get the JR pass, plan your journey with using JR lines to make full use of it. There is also a JR line all the way to Narita airport, so you can also use the JR pass to get to the airport. So factor all those trips in and see which method will save you more money. |

QUOTE(michlove @ Sep 30 2014, 09:26 AM) In January last year, one of the days I was in Tokyo had snow storm. Around the same time of your January dates as well. Cold or not depends on your own body tolerance. If this is the first time visiting overseas during winter, better prepare lots of winter clothing and protection. Better be warm than freeze your arse off. Prepare waterproof shoes as well in case of snow. |
