QUOTE(RegentCid @ Dec 12 2014, 12:16 AM) Well, I like getting all free in Onsens myself but yeah... datz azz... I'm particular to good rotenburos myself. The one at Hoheikyo was quite good actually, beating the public rotens over at Nikko and Kinugawa-Onsen. The Dogo one in Matsuyama didn't have a roten so yeah. |

Dunno those mineral will chemical reaction or not? Still not dare to try I don't wanna try even lol. As for walking in like a boss, the small kain I usually put on shoulder or around neck oni nowadays. First time back in 2011 sure lar shy shy a bit, now go into onsen or sento DGAF anymore lol. On the subject of Onsens, Spa World in the middle of Shinsekai Osaka is really not as bad as I thought it would be for a commercial "in-the-middle-of-the-city" man made onsen - the rotens especially. No views of the city though, even when it's on the fourth floor of the building (or 6th, depending on the month), which is a shame. |

Well, tattoo = yakuza in Japan after all. And as we all know, the Japanese everyday person is quite adherent to such unwritten rules (or rather, stereotypes). Even if the very idea of a gaijin yakuza is quite... weird...
I mean, even if the onsen management understands, their local clientèle might not. That would be rather bad for business lol. That said, I often wonder, where DO yakuza members go to dip in onsen then? I mean, gang members want some hot spring lovin' too rite? This post has been edited by Eiraku: Dec 14 2014, 12:42 PM |

when i was backpacking hokkaido, i met few japanese w/ tattoos inside onsens.
either thats their territory, or the stereotypes no longer as strong. as long they dont cause any ruckus, other non-tattood japanese pretty much just carry one w/ their stuff. if you got tattoo, you can just ask the counter 'tattoo daijobu desuka?'+ buat muke sposen. then if allowed to go in, just duduk at certain corner. most likely ppl wont notice ur tattoo |

Man, I've even seen entertainment outlets that don't allow you to expose your tattoos even if you're just there to have a drink.
If they don't allow you to show tattoos even with your clothes on, lets not even talk about when you're naked. This post has been edited by masterelr: Dec 15 2014, 12:36 AM |
