Sharing news on how the Mi4 body will look like.

http://www.gizmochina.com/2014/07/14/auste...ibo-by-lei-jun/

QUOTE
Shortly after Lei Jun claimed that the Xiaomi Mi4 press conference  invitation letter is made by metal , and the material of the next generation of Mi4′s body is Austenitic stainless steel 304. Which is allegedly can provide strong rust and corrosion resistance. It is easy to be stamping form by its excellent plasticity and toughness. Stainless steel 304 is one of the most common stainless steel with the density of 7.93 g/cm3 , Which is also called as stainless steel 18/8 in the industry. It can resistant high temperature, have good processing performance, thus it is widely used in medical industry and furniture decoration industry and food industry.

Although this kind of stainless steel is very common in China, the name “stainless steel 304 “comes from the United States. Many people thought that stainless steel 304 is one of the Japanese models, but strictly speaking, a Japanese official called for stainless steel 304 is the “SUS304”. There are three kinds of common Marking methods on the market, they are 06 cr19ni10, S30408 and SUS304, of which 6 cr19ni10 is generally signified ISO production, S30408 is generally signified ASTM standard production, SUS 304 is signified Japanese standard production.

As a kind of common stainless steel, stainless steel 304 is widely used to make equipment and parts which required a good comprehensive performance (corrosion resistance and formability). In order to keep its inherent corrosion resistance, the component of chromium in stainless steel must more than 17% , and the component of nickel must more than 8% . Stainless steel 304 is a brand that produced according to the United States ASTM standards.

Should be true since leijun himself was the one who revealed the pic last night.

Hey guys, I'm a new mi3 owner . just got my phone today..

Need your advise with an issue I seem to be facing. Every time I wake my phone there's an error that pops up and goes away.

As I meddled with the phone I discovered that when I hold my palm over the top speaker area where the front facing can is.. The "error" stays on.

Its the prompt that says to not cover the top part of the phone to avoid aaccidental dials.

Each time I wake my phone this happens. Is there any thing I should be worried with?

My antique Nokia 6233 also uses Stainless Steel, probably i should celebrating it's 300th drop & still workable till date, though is more like Portable Radio & Paper Weight for me now...lol

Probably Stainless Steel just for the frame, less chances of getting "Chipped off" like Iphone aluminum frame i supposed.

I'm using the English version.

Mind tell me what is the stability differences with Chinese if you know? There is a delay for mikey to activate whenever i first use it (probably for program to load). So if I clear memory, clear program, etc, it will take a few second to activate when I use it. After that its smooth.

Oh btw, I'm using it with my S4 instead coz my daughter I bought the key for likes to use piston iem instead.

Did you remove the stock protector that cover your screen? If you have not coz waiting for real protector before peeling it off, try lift//peel the top blocking/covering the top sensors and try again.

Just want to share the earlier experience of my Google Maps, Google Installer and Mi Market were suddenly not functioning even tried to reinstall. At first I thought it was due to flashing to 4.7.11.

Finally found out the main root cause was due to whenever the phone battery drops below 30%, the system will automatically shutdown the above apps. It's a good learning here smile.gif
