Hi guys, is there anyway to check if the mi3 I am purchasing is a local MY set or an AP set? I scanned the first post but couldn't find any details..
*
http://order.mi.com/service/imei

all information can get from the service card:

put in IMEI
put in SN (this print on the sticker at the rear ob mi3)
do a simple math calculation
press search button

move to android pls!

anyway some review here after using xiaomi for almost 2 weeks. Hardware is great but full of bugs even the with basic function. I rely on phone heavily for work purposes, even done all the necessary setting, still whatsapp delay meassage, Line apps messages totally not in, email not push. Call with bluetooth, the sound is too soft. Sync contacts with problems. Im using dev rom.

tested the phone with asphalt 8, crash and need to set the game quality to medium in order to play. play fifa 14, first ok, after a while crashed and stopped so as the game spartan 300.

Anyone facing these problems too? feeling abit regret from changing samsung to xiaomi now. They update the rom by not fixing all these bugs but adding new features like "data saver" in it. So, overall those who going to bought these phone, i would say wait another 6 months to get all these bugs fix and stabil. and may be by the time, u can get mi4.

Anyway i look at One plus thread even full of bugs, so these chinese company phones still need some times to get this issues solved.

all above problems u menstion i only 'kena' 1 only, whatsapp delay(but problems solve), other never happen to me, i am using dev latest romm tooo... hmm.gif

ok, i try to appeal to mod and i already change the sub topic to "Strictly technical discussion only"...

From now on, can we only discuss just technical issues? Hopefully we follow the rules and mod will be able to justify and eventually move it back to android section.

Guys, i'm working very hard to move this back to original track...pls appreciate my effort here...thanks.

anyone notice that mi3, can manual set iso & shutter speed?

i suspect that the shutter speed value is "cheat" value?

because the shutter range is from 1/5000s to 2s.

is 1/5000 seconds!! but it can't take a photo that moving fast(example ceiling fan)...

why my panasonic lx5, use only 1/250s, already can done the job...

panasonic lx5
f/2.0 , 1/1000s, ISO-1600

mi3
f/2.2, 1/1000s, ISO-3200

this is not cheat value
shutter speed 1/5000s is possible coz the shutter is using electronic window gate brows.gif
while lx5 using is using mechanical window gate... tat y it have longer 1/250s shutter time whistling.gif

to understand why your ceiling's fan bend...
hmm.gif i believe it is due to the sensor itself
it simply didnt capture light fast enuf

u can simply test this theory if u use some heavy lighting on the ceiling fan b4 u capture the image  thumbup.gif
do tell us ur result  wink.gif
*
after test witl flash light on, on ceiling light bulb, still same...

i think maybe is the shutter is different between phone camera & digital camera... hmm.gif

why mi3 can get so high benchmark compare with same processor phone like nexus 5 and S5?
*
because xiaomi is a software company(doing miui OS based on android), so it can optimise the OS, to perform at max performance... rclxms.gif

Buying xiaomi products is different as they have active ROM development compare to others OEM.

beaisdde hardware spec, price, the miui is the main point i buy mi3, because the miui is on going development os, not like other brand, just a skin change or add some apps only... brows.gif

wrong... flashlight wont work
u need heavy lighting!!! strobes! or spotlight
if u didnt hv any of above... take 1fan and snap outdoor under the sun
sun have more than 100k lumens

fyi 1/5000s is too fast
flashlight hv timer to burst the light before/after the shutter curtain
but it still wont fast enuf for this type of experiment
*
why not u try it? i had try all the combination, also can't make it.

if you said 1/5000s too fast, but i use 1/1000s, 1/250, 1/125, 1/60, 1/30...etc

if too slow, can't make the fan still, if too fast, fan become bend, there is no middle point...

sorry i dont hv the phone, im jus helping based on my experience

fyi flashlight normally have effective bust time frame in between 1/200s to 1/500s (lower if using led flash)
this prob happen if da camera finish taking the pix before the flash burst
since the flashlight hv limitation... u need to hv external light source... a strong one

i know it coz there is hacking kits for canon camera, called CHDK
they hack the camera feature to the maximum wub.gif
tat y i said... 1/5000s is possible... if cant do it, sensor prob lor

anyway im off now, gud luck on the experiment
*
i think must be sensor problems, no matter how i try, still not able to do it, but the digital camera can easy do it, with even 1/60s can do it... sweat.gif
