post edited...since some 'mod' say cannot discuss any sales related topic  else kena banned wor rolleyes.gif

I don't think discussing about official MI3 sales or delivery schedule is gonna get banned nor assigned to Kopitiam.

As mentioned by some users as well, it were most likely the numbers of "abuse report" clicks over here. Direct selling of items are not allowed, that is known throughout. However discussion on MI3 sales and delivery via the official MI3 should not be cause for banned. The word technical is input here to direct the discussion into technical info but by no means is a cause for banning if some discussion were diverted to accs (not selling), delivery, etc.

If you see other threads, they do that ALL of the above and even direct posters to other sites for sales of accessories (as long as they don't sell the items or advertise IN the thread, etc. Only this thread kena moved becoz of high amt of abuse reporting, direct selling of items, etc.

QUOTE(neverknowgirl @ Jul 7 2014, 01:45 PM)
but will it protect the phone?
I'm looking for cover that will protect the phone, if otter box have case for xiaomi definitely will buy (if the price not too expensive)

btw i bought essential bundle but now regret it and wanna sell the new flip case at retail price
*
Tell me abt it....I got a bundle also. Tot its clear SP, turned out to be matted. Installed Nillkin glass H+ instead.

As for the cover, don't really know why I click bundle at that time, damn regret as the cover is super thin thus only protect against scratch and nothing else. The side even can get scratches as its not fully cover. I don't like sticky type casing anyway, difficult to change casing.

If you want good quality Flip Casing. Try the Torras branded ones in lelong.com. I've gotten a RM60 torras leather for a guy. Hard shiny real leather with unexpectedly good workmanship on the materials and finishing. Nice for business like casing but not suitable for casual looks. High class business look.

For my wife and daughter, I've gotten the Torras Flip Hit Color Flipcase. A RM42 2-tone pu/synthetic leather flip cases with again unexpectedly good finishing. My wife love the colouring and material feels and stiching. Besides those expensive branded casing for smartphones like Spigen, etc, this is one of the better Material finishing case I've seen for these prices.

Both covers has protection consideration design into them like 1-2mm extending over side to protect the phone, etc. Even the phone holder (standard), not the sticky type) are of a better soft plastic quality unlike those cheap hard plastic from mercury, etc.

This is just a "technical" whistling.gif review of MI3 protection accs that should have other forumners.

Darn scared to post stuff in this forum and get threaten with possible ban thingy...

Ya lor, siao meh !!! sikit sikit also remove...TS is gonna be Zahid liao...

He is an innocent victim and it IS related to a technical issue in first place.

The last time we got moved by moderator is becoz of many report button trigger happy posters. So many forum here I've access also no issue even when discussing things outside the subject as long as no one really complain and no traders selling thru advertising post here.

busy man dont spend hours in this thread...should claim back money from seller if the phone is not working properly...My intuitive tells me something is wrong somewhere....as i mentioned i hope i'm wrong... tongue.gif
*
If this happen to me, I also will try call seller but it's also obvious seller avoiding him now, most likely known he is selling him a lemon.

If it happened to me and I really don't want to spend time going to do those warranty, chances are I'm going to do the same, sell cheaper, get back some dough and let the burnt cash be a lesson. No need to mafan if I can afford to lose RM200 to take the trouble of my hand.

Eventhough pay-per-use is unlimited (correct me if im wrong) but it's more expensive than monthly data plan.

I've learned my lesson. 1month usage of pay-per-use data on celcom, skyrocketed my phonebill to rm2k sweat.gif Thankfully back then, celcom got their (10%?) discount per (rm250) cap.. something like that.. as a result, rm2k - rm1.8k discount = ~rm200+ needed to pay.

After pay, immediately change to monthly data plan tongue.gif
*
Once you get the cheapest plan, if overuse, also no charge extra, just throttle speed only. That's peace of mind. However roaming still kira...

These couple of months, maxis got horrible network issue that resulted in weak and inconsistence phone and data signals, at least in Klang Valley.

Phone is for calling and surf net. Why do you need 64GB?  rclxub.gif  doh.gif
*
Nowadays smartphone are used for more than that. Scheduler, files storage (to view on the go for work or reference), notes taking, picture and video capturing. It is a PA for most nowadays, not just for net surfing and phone calls. If that only, I think those cheap cheap nokia phones also can do easily.

As for large amt of data, tons of MP3, work files (really lots for work references), lots of videos (from video capture) and massive pics storage?

I bought MI3 for my daughter to act as MP3 player cum emergency phone so that she does not need to "reserved" my ipad for her constant music playing while doing homework. She's already taken over a couple gigs of mp3 and videos and that is just for for start. Her selfies, etc has not come in yet.

As for watching movies, book reading, etc on the go....rest time, waiting time, shitting time....

Those stuff can be kept in PC. You don't need to keep pictures and files in the phone one. Also you can upload to facebook. No one said Nokia Lumia can't do that. Nokia Lumia can do most thing Mi3 do. So your comparison is moot.

I think 16GB is sufficient for MP3. You just need a few albums.

As for work related stuff, its just files and it will be very small document files.
Work and study is 10GB? I think you seldom refer to it. You just feel safe that it is in there. LOL
*
Obviously you have not use those RM80 nokia.

Yes, 16GB is sufficient for MP3, that's why I got for my daughter but she got tons of mp3 downloaded....few albums, u really don't know how much songs and varieties kids listens to nowadays, don't you?

It is again obvious you do not use your phone for work references documents thus your justification of no need big files, etc is moot as well. Try not to justify something from only your point of view that you have not really experience the need for it...

Try dumping a thousand pages diagrams into your phone. Its huge and NOT those tiny documents files that recorded notes. You're right about feeling safe, I know I got everything at hands. Cloud based references is good but you need fast internet connection at all times....try to show your clients the reference files at outskirt on cloud based storage, you'll curse like shit.

It can be argued, one can use ipad or laptops for that but you don't really carry them everywhere but the smartphone stays with you at all time, can call up reference at my convenience.

Yes.

One basic clean powerpoint file can be 1MB, if have media, definitely more than that.
Same goes to word files.
And scanned PDF copy can be in region of 30MB+ (drawings) to 1MB+ (documents).

Of course actual work is done in PC/Laptop, but it's more convenient for reference purposes.
I like to be in the know instead of being caught off guard in any meetings.

Example, when someone screwed up & tries to blame me, I'd refer to the documents straight away. better than call office to check for me, wasting time waiting  rclxub.gif

Just checked my Mi3, from 1 site visit, the pictures & videos are about 1GB already.  sweat.gif

So yeah,I won't die due to space but it's more into convenience only  laugh.gif

Its just like buying insurance, you don't need it until... well... you need it. happened that I need it a lot when discussing technical with my counterparts outside, etc during tea breaks, etc. I call it my PA for a reason, what I need, when I need, its there for use.

I wanna feel safe, just like preparing condoms for a night out...unless you don't use them when you go banging around...then obviously you don't need it lor... whistling.gif

Can tell you that the Mi3 can last the whole day if no gaming.

I unplug power at 7am and can last until 10pm with 15-20% charge left and this after some gaming as well.

Also you can set the Mi3 to power saving mode and get longer usage. The default is balanced which is what i am on right now.
*
The display seems to sucked more juice than my S4 amoled at dim level. In most case, on my S4, its display time and apps usage sucked almost on par battery but MI3 battery usage seems to go more into display when compared with same usage style as my S4.

Pls stop discussing anything related to sales else this place will become trading and we will back to square one again when someone hits the "report" button. Pls collaborate and keep this thread clean.  notworthy.gif

The curse of the report button clickers. In other threads, most accs are also discussed in the thread as long as it is not selling it. Some of the fun of owning the devices are the accs as well. Preventing discussion on accs including where to buy (not advertisement, etc) is overkill. I think the moderator is not that batu coz they allows so in other thread.

It is the report button clickers that are the fault for all this. Suka suka report, suka suka click until this thread seems like its being control by a dictator...

Aiya...if one does not use the phone like we do, you won't get it one. Justification, no need do this wan, no need do that one purely from ones point of view coz he never needed to do that mah...

But for those that do, its relevant and required. I used to think smart phone use for phone and pleasure surfing only until the screen got large enuf that I used it for work related documentation and sync with laptops when back to office or home.

At first only small files like quotation, word docs, then later diagrams, then later scanned whole items specs booklet into it, then...still ongoing process....coz phones are getting bigger and faster that its screen and access speed ala processor, ram, storage even can match tablets and the lesser laptops.

Been using Mi3 for several hours now...encounter the screen went black out after making call, solved by googling the issue in Miui forum...

Now, one q that i cant find the answer, unlike S3 or Q10...i only need to swipe the screen to activate the phone, whereas with Mi3, i need to push the power button every time to activate the screen, then only i can swipe..is it like that?
*
Sure S3 only swipe can wake up ar !!! My parent is using S3 and I'm the one configuring it for her. Have to press either the power or the home button to wake up. Even S4 need to press those button to wake up if screen goes black, swiping by itself won't activate anything.

Exactly. That is my point. Even my Sony is make in China. All phones are made in China.

I am planning to get from directd if I am buying mi3. RM749. + 2 years warranty. I know is AP set. Or you guys think I should try my luck this tuesday and settle for official xiaomi malaysia set priced at RM769, 1 year warranty?
*
If want to have less problem with the phone OS, I would suggest get the local set. The main reason is.......google play pre-installed without any issue to casual non-tech smartphone user. If get AP, they're using Mi-Store. For me its a big hassle for a casual user to install Google Play from Mi-store, then divert, etc. Get something that works straight from bootup. I know you might be able to install everything for her but its really your choice.

As for bugs, you think other brands no bugs kah! Even now, my S4 entire widgets will stop updating on screen and had to reboot every day or 2 to get it to work again (mobile data problem, everything activate/deactivate, it will have high chances of activating that bug).

I've gotten MI3 for both my wife and daughter. They loves it. Both of them keep mentioning it looks good and its super fast when surfing net thru Wi-Fi (better than my S4...of course lar, speed wise, cannot match anymore). I have not hear any issue on phone calls or sms from then so far, except that we have to put +6 in front of all contact numbers to ensure any sms comes in will show the contact name.

I don't know how long these phones will last but it looks to have decent makes, no better nor lousy than any other brands but at this price, I can get a replacement phone at a much shorter interval with upgraded specs rather than stay with a RM2K phone that have to last me much longer due to cost factor.

Wah, thanks for the reply. I will never buy any samsung shit cause I heard a lot of bad things about them. Ok, will definitely try my luck at local set.
*
Actually I'm thinking of going Samsung Note 4 shit for my next phone. You really should not rely on "hearing" bad things to judge a phone. There might be 10 bad things abt Samsung but there might be 100 good things abt it as well. Problem is when discussion problem, ppl tends to complain here and there thus making that 10 bad things seems like 100 instead. Chances are most satisfied users enjoyed the 100 good things and did not bother mention it to anyone, that's how ppl are.....10 good things hidden and complain like hell abt 1 bad things.

Walao....I cannot thing liao....oh..think.

I actually like Samsung high end phones. Still has its advantage and for phablets with digitizer (pen) feature, its still has not found a real match...yet.

Oh, if you like to keep your phone really up to date, as slow as Samsung is, it is still the best phone to keep your phone updated with stock rom for 2 years (don't compare with Nexus....that is not fair for updating OS, compared with other competitors). My ex-S2 is on Jelly Bean stock rom, don't think any other brand with phone that old get updated to that version before it stop updating. That is one of the good things that really was rarely mention by complainer.
