QUOTE(briantwj @ Jul 4 2014, 12:42 PM) like i said, the new official mi3 thread in android subforum will nid a new TS, stricter rules. So only solution maybe ask mod to open the thread and monitor it. But anyway, lets just wait for mod/staff response to our appeal. Somehow I think it will be quite difficult. AFAIK, I never seen any mod shows interest on the Xiaomi devices, or should I say, left a message in the Mi3 thread. I really doubt that any mod would dedicate him/herself for taking care of this complicated thread. This post has been edited by Max2006: Jul 4 2014, 12:55 PM

QUOTE(blackamikaze @ Jul 4 2014, 01:07 PM) i think the real reason mod move this thread because you guys spam too much on reports button, everything also reports. Then mod also fed up and transfer the thread here. To be honest, even other thread not always talking about the device itself. They do actually talk about accessories, sales and other nonsense. But in this thread it become obvious because every week we have sales and every week we have new user joining in asking same question without reading the first page. Trust me, it happen on other thread too but not so much because they dont have so much users like us. But Mod doesnt care because no one bising2, u think Mod really care what u guys wanna talk about. The problem start when u guys start spamming the report button and alert the mod. Thanks to you guys, they think this is the best way to solve the problem. If that's the case, then I guess we can't do anything about it but to accept the current situation. Eventhough if the thread moved back and the new stricter rules added, the same thing will happen again as long as the flash sales is still continue. Since Mi3 was introduced to Malaysia, all those rantings, complaints, cursing, and jealous came in. But that's the way of how Xiaomi device get famous in the world. I guess we could say this is nobody's fault. It's just that the nature of this Xiaomi device itself doesn't fit well in the LYN android forum's environment.

For you guys who keep asking "where is this function? How do I enable/disable it? Why this phone has no such features while my previous phone got?" etc etc. I can't help but wondering....did you guys ever browse through the phone extensively after you bought it? We are talking about Miui in here. You certainly cannot expect that it would be exactly the same with the previous phone UI you have get used to. All you need to do is to spend a bit more time, browse through the Miui, scroll here and there. You may be surprised on what you may find out at the end.

QUOTE(kennethkee93 @ Jul 5 2014, 01:30 PM) That's what this thread is for, to ask things you don't know or unsure of. If everyone knows everything, then this thread probably serves no purpose already. Ya, I know bro. Just thought that we could encourage the new users to explore the phone more often. Of course, asking here is the fastest and safest way. But if you could find it out by yourself, that experience is priceless.

QUOTE(mstr583 @ Jul 5 2014, 06:07 PM) The thread is like chipmore....Moving everywhere....haha... WCDMA version don't have RAW photo mode??? There is no option to turn "ON" it... Snapdragon, which is WCDMA version doesn't have the Raw mode. Only the Nvidia Tegra 4 version has it. But again, you won't be able to use 3G if you use the Nvidia Tegra 4 version in Malaysia. QUOTE(jeremy05 @ Jul 5 2014, 06:28 PM) dev rom i s in kitkat already! stable rom have to wait... If I am not mistaken, each country has their own Miui dev team, right? I wonder if our own Malaysia team also the members in LYN. If they are, I do hope that they can check out this thread and give us first hand inside info from time to time. Then it would be perfect for all.

QUOTE(mansooriqbal @ Jul 5 2014, 06:34 PM) bUt chinese firmware right? it wont work like the Malaysian rom? also I will have to root to load dev rom? Any differences than stable my rom n dev rom? Mind sharing? Yes. It will still work like the Malaysian rom, but you will get Mi Market instead of Google playstore. Nope. Just flash to dev rom and it will be automatically rooted. Stable rom is more stable with lesser issue, while dev rom is much more improved but with bugs. This post has been edited by Max2006: Jul 5 2014, 06:39 PM

QUOTE(mstr583 @ Jul 5 2014, 06:53 PM) Raw mode is one of the sales point for MI3.. Snapdragon processor cannot support RAW? We probably will never know why. Even the Xiaomi support team doesn't know the answer. https://www.facebook.com/XiaomiMalaysia/pos...202960728833391

QUOTE(suntzulee @ Jul 5 2014, 07:03 PM) I don't mean rude...perhaps the Thomas guy is over high hope on mi3... Less 1k phone, wan it's, wan that....some more say cheated... Mi3 Malaysia official site did mention the Raw mode function in the first place. But it was removed after the sales began. That's why Thomas accused them for cheating.

Btw, for users who stick to the MY stable rom, did you know that when you use stock browser, the google homepage is SG version instead of MY version? It makes me think that the MY rom is actually completely based on SG rom, with some minor changes.
Not a big deal though. Just feel a bit "frustrated" because it should show the MY version since I am a Malaysian who bought it from Xiaomi Malaysia. ;p

QUOTE(snigapoe @ Jul 5 2014, 10:29 PM) and ever since i got on dev rom my speaker on the phone are actually much louder compare to when i'm using stable rom from the first batch sale Argghh!! Thanks for the info. I always feel that my phone speaker is weak. So it's stable rom's fault. This makes me want to flash to the dev rom now. Or may me I should wait for the stable kit kat version first....

Did you guys check the Homescreen wallpaper component in the theme app? I just realized there's WHOLE LOT of wallpapers to choose from. Especially the hot babes wallpapers. It really save my times to search for sexy wallpaper from the net. LOL.

QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ Jul 7 2014, 09:22 PM) guys mi stated mi3 is 441ppi but how come cpuz shown 480ppi? I think CPU-Z somehow doesn't give correct info when it comes to Mi3. When I use CPU-Z to check, it shows my CPU running at 30-40%. But then when I use System Lite to check, it shows my CPU at 0-4%.

QUOTE(vvnchow @ Jul 8 2014, 12:39 PM) ok ok... then I'll keep with the default theme then~ Insteadd of listening to other's opinions, why don't you just try to apply a few themes and see what happen? It's quite easy to apply. If you don't like it, you can always delete the installed theme anytime you want. As simple as that. No harm for trying new things, right?

I wonder if anyone in here willing to spend some times to write a full manual on how to utilize the Mi3's stock camera app. I for one is a android camera app noob. It will be great if there's a manual for people who can't get used to the Mi3's camera features.

QUOTE(vvnchow @ Jul 8 2014, 01:03 PM) I dare not simply install apps/ theme now.... From my past experience, though you uninstall the games/ apps/ themes, it will still kept some files/ folders/ something associated apps that I might not know (found out through usb plug-in and surprised that folders for uninstalled apps still kept in my phone). Worried this may eventually affect the phone performance or maybe it won't but I am not a very IT savvy person, instead of putting myself in dilemma of to delete or not to delete those files, got to think twice before install. No worry bro. Miui v5 is unique. After you uninstall certain apps/files, some cache sure would be kept inside the phone storage. But you can use Miui's cleaner app to clean it up. And you don't have to worry about on what time you should clean it because the cleaner app would inform you to act accordingly once the useless cache reach certain limits. My real experience: Last night when I browsed through the phone, a reminder showed up and told me there's 350 mb of useless files inside the phone. I tapped it, run the cleaner, retrieved the 350mb. All these happened in 10 secs.

QUOTE(m3phisto @ Jul 8 2014, 01:10 PM) I changed the theme of my phone and it applied sucessfully. After taking out the Google search widget , the clock from the theme vanished and I couldn't retrieve it back. Was wondering if any techgeeks can help me bring back the clock ? Thanks Long press on the background. The widget selections will show up at the bottom. You can retrieve the clock widget from there.
