All this talk about replacing Suarez do you guys not remember how we signed him ? No one knew about him other than he cheated in world cup. No one predicted he could be one of the best if not the best striker in the world.

Sanchez, Reus, James Rod etc are all great players and well known. But sometimes it pays off to look at places where no one else is looking. We took a huge risk with Suarez and now we could be making upto 60mil of profit.

Like I said before, if we sell Suarez, we'll hv money. If he stays, we'll have goals. Either way, he's contributing to LFC.

Players come and go. Suarez did good for us and for that I think he deserves a place in our hearts. This season most probably will see him in Barca colors and for that I wish him well.... of course not when we face Barca in UCL.

All others that we have recruited or going to buy are good players; in their own right. However, no guarantee in football. Big names do fail while unknown players like Michu just burst out like a thunder! It will be a gamble no less but FSG has shown that they're willing to spend to strengthen the team with more football this season.

Just hope we get the players early and can get them to gel and understand BR's football philosophy.

So we are looking to distribute Suarez goals among the players.
Suarez is a great player nonetheless but his goalscoring feats came in spurts. He clearly was burnt out during the last few matches of the season.
Wish him all the best at Barcelona, gave his everything whenever he played for LFC.

Pretty excited on who will be coming to replace him, rumors has its Markovic + another attacker. Still a long way to go in before the transfer window closes. lets see.

Incoming Origi 10mil pounds and Markovic 20mil pounds

Great deal, quite a big change in Liverpool squad lol..

Seems like Agger & Skrtel heading out, replaced by Lovren Sakho/Ilori probably..

then midfield is a mess now haha, so many midfields + portential incomings

only hope for striker a real replacement for Suarez

Out:-
Coates
Aspas
Borini
Skrtel
Agger
Lucas
Assaidi
Kolo

thats alot of money, but i believe Lucas/borini/skrtel will stay another season

I really hope we don't sell Skrtel. Yeah he made few mistakes but he was otherwise our best defender last season and a beast at setpiece. I'll be happy if we end up with Skrtel, Lovren, Sakho and Illori/Coates/Kelly as our main defenders.

Agreed, he scores quite a few crucial goals and started the goal galores.. Same looking solid with Skrtel, Lovren, Sakho, Illori( of coz it would be better if its Godin + Hummels) tongue.gif

Hoping Mignolet learn 1 or 2 thing from WC, all the keeper performing in WC makes Mignolet an average :/

I'd love to see Agger stayed. Yes he has made some errors or mistakes that leads to goals but he is one of the seniors there. Lucas could stay on as well probably needs a pay cut if so. I like him as a person because he is honest and humble. Silent hero I would say for the past few seasons. Impeccable at times. Stops and breaking down play. But last season shows that he is not the type of player that suits Rodgers style of play. Every time he gets the ball, the game will slow down. biggrin.gif

I think Jones will be leaving this summer. I am hoping that we can sign that Mexican Ochoa... Free and seems decent enough. IF he can perform well in World Cup, surely he will have no problem performing in CL. He was a beast against Brazil. thumbup.gif

We need someone (with decent price but good quality) to put pressure on Mignolet.

Why do we need 3 gk to compete in 1 spot? Dont forget we still have Reina and he still have 2 years left in his contract.

On a positive note, our squad is shaping up pretty nicely. Brendan is signing all these talented players to fill up the squad to provide the attacking impetus that we were sorely lacking last season.

Rather than having Alberto, Aspas & Moses coming on in hope to change the game, We actually will have Allen, Can, Coutinho, Lambert possibly Markovic to come on and make something happen. I'd take it that.
Plus always good to have a fuller squad now that we are in 4 different competitions options aplenty.

We will be replacing Suarez with potentially 3 very good players. Then again people say that look at what happened to Spurs after their lost of Bale. Unlike Spurs we have a system, players know their role in the squad on what needs to be done, Suarez was part of the system we are not a one man team on the contrary to Spurs. How many matches winners did Bale get for Spurs at the death and to compare our current predicament with Spurs is comparing apples to oranges. One needs to only watch the match against Arsenal at Anfield to see how we attack and defend as a team. Suarez integral part of the system and irreplaceable but we have lost strikers before and recovered dont see why we cant do it now.

I'd be worried if we were managed by Hodgson, Gilette & Hicks but we are not. Like my earlier post, im pretty excited to see who will be bring and how can they contribute to the team so what if Sanchez doesn't come. thats fine, pretty sure we will find our own version of "Sanchez" plus in Rodgers we genuinely have a manager that coaches the players to improve, fine tuning their skills and general play as seen on Sterling, Sturridge and Coutinho rather than coming in and putting in players into system and letting them getting on with things. Who's to say we might not give the title another tilt? Onwards & Upwards!

Buying players is not like going supermarket and grab anything we fancy. Seller needs to sell and players have their terms or preference too.

What's important is the players we brought in subscribe to our plaing philosophy and create a balanced team.

Big players failed too; look at Veron, Morientes, Sheva etc. No guarantee big names will shine. Let's have faith in our players. Play with heart and soul and we will march on.

Responding to the bold part, if there are no guarantee big names will shine, the same goes to mediocre and no name players.
At least getting big name, the chance of them to flop is lower than no name. If we have to list out mediocre/no name players that failed, the list will definitely a lot longer than that.

If we really sell Suarez, that big sum of money should spend on a few world class player, big name. And not spend on a lot of mediocre/no name players. Quality > Quantity.

Would you have paid 24mil for untested, unproven Suarez or 50mil for Torres ?

To be fair, we got both Torres and Suarez at about 20-25M and both of them were already stars for their club and country. Both captained their team and are adored by their fans.
