Greetings, fellow comrades.

Sorry for my brief intro out here, but may I know when is your trial examination's date? I'd like to get your PA and Chemistry trial papers. Thank you.

Just give a brief introduction about malaria, why it is picked as a subject of interest (e.g. the rising case of cases in Malaysia), and then briefly outline what the coursework is about. You don't have to go to the specifics, like, explaining what question 1 and question 2 is about etc...

What did your teacher tell you to do about Methodology? I know this answering this isn't helping at the last minute. Perhaps you will find something useful on pp. 6-8 in this thread. happy.gif

My Title: The Effectiveness of Quinine in treating Malaria using Mathematical Concept

Is it too weird? hmm.gif

Sorry Critical_Fallacy, I used your maths modelling technique in pp6-8, but sad to say, my teacher rejected it and said 'I don't even understand what you are writing about' . cry.gif She said either I redo, or she will give me a very low mark on that section. hmm.gif Maybe not everyone understands that as it involves exponential functions.

How do I write for the methodology? Well, I just explain how I find the values for each task given. Like a table is constructed and a graph is plotted, and what formula is used to determine the dosage of quinine, and blah blah blah rolleyes.gif

Are you taking physics? When is your trial Exam? Mine starts on 29th September shakehead.gif The earliest among all schools in Malacca (and Maybe in Malaysia?)

If you don't mind, can you share with me your trial exam papers? laugh.gif

I'm sorry to hear that. It's rather surprising that a qualified Math teacher doesn't understand the exponential functions in modeling. hmm.gif If I were the Ministry of Education, she'll be fired. sweat.gif

Well, you should make a pitch before allowing her to reject. The exponential concept is very simple. Does your teacher take her meals in a day regularly? Why does she do that? Because she gets hungry? Ask her, how many hours after taking a meal does she start to feel hungry? In fact, our blood sugar level can affect how hungry and how energetic we feel. We feel hungry because our blood sugar level is dropping below a certain “hungry” level. Taking foods with carbohydrates will raise our blood sugar level above the “hungry” level.

If you ask her to plot the blood sugar level, what will it look like? icon_rolleyes.gif

Does the blood sugar stay consistent at a certain level?

The plot should look like a capacitor charging and discharging. icon_idea.gif

My title is Prescribing Quinine Dosage for Effective Malaria Treatment.

The methodology begins with...

The problem of how much of the Quinine dosage to prescribe to a Malaria patient and how often the dosage should be administered is an important issue in pharmacology. The first wife of Tunku Abdul Rahman, Lady Chong Ah Mei contracted malaria after she gave birth to her second child and died from a medical blunder, an injection of undiluted quinine. For most drugs, there is a concentration below which the drug is ineffective and a concentration above which the drug is dangerous.

then continue with the following

- Problem Identification

- Assumptions

- Model for the elimination of the Quinine from the bloodstream

- Model for how it increases again when the Quinine is administered

- Model for Quinine accumulation with repeated doses

- Determining the Dose Schedule

- Verifying the Model using patients with different weights

wow thank you very much . but then we don't have to say anything about the formula ? or how we find the calculation ?
