QUOTE(adriankhoo153 @ Jun 5 2014, 05:16 PM) Mareshia... when govt say harga barang naik sikit everyone goes haywire... When airport charge outrages price, everyone cool and understandable.. common mistake made by malaysian ppl.. they always order food without even looking at the price first then when the bill comes...they complaint p/s: i have an experience working in F&B for 5 years.. that's the common problem i encounter with malaysia customer.... and the best parts is they always told me.... " Apasal harga mahal sangat???? saya biasa makan kat tempat lain harga RMxx jer!! "

" if you eat at certain "foreigner" restaurant... their "countrymen" can get a cheaper price while "local" customer get cut throat " p/s: it's all depend on the "seller" so the solution is learn how to be their "countrymen"... learn their language and culture so you can get at cheaper price

Supply and demand.
Because when you are at the airports, you really don't have much of a choice.

If you cant afford to eat at the airport, then you cant afford to go abroad. I checked all airports I visited, all of them have prices higher than downtown or normal malls.
And...the prices charged at KLIA\KLIA2 are similar to most other places I visit. Once out of Malaysia, be prepared to pay in USD.
Easy example. A bowl of noodles in KLIA2 with drink is about RM15, that is say USD5. If you go to Busan, airport food there starts from USD6-10. In Japan, a simple bowl of rice n eggs/chicken with green tea is USD7. In Cambodia, the coffee is USD3 per cup.
In Thailand, Don Muang has a buffet which is cheap... RM20 or less per pax, but their other cafes also charge similar to our KLIA.
I dont remember about Indonesia. I remember MACAU was so expensive. USD15-20 a bowl of noodles that I starved and wait for AA nasi lemak on board. RM15 seems a steal.
