Hi bro, want to ask some questions.

Currently I get a Huawei HG850a GPON Terminal which from TIME Fibre previously.
And no longer to be used for TIME.
Can I get the GPON Modem admin password to get access the settings for other ISP?
Pretty annoying for can't change the admin settings.

PM if you can't post publicly.

Thanks first for the info.

(*Sadly TIME had changed the Modem default password.  doh.gif )

Hi Bro,

You can use this particular ONU for other ISP provided you know their configurations, we cant post the login credentials here.

Please let me know what you wish to do.

Thanks.

Hi Guys,

Was wondering how's your performance for twich.tv . It seems to be buffering all the time on High Quality, Maybe Medium or Low is only possible.

On 20mbps plan with Cisco router and AP.

SR20DET#traceroute twich.tv

The Easy Switch Rebate RM500 is for you to cover the penalty imposed by both TM or Maxis when you switch over to TIME, if you are not using anyone of them and not within the contract, this promo is not applicable.

For further info, please kindly pm me directly.

You can't tracert directly to twitch.tv but instead live.twitch.tv as instructed by twitch themselves.

http://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/arti...route-to-twitch
I've already made a complaint sometime back in May to time directly and they have yet to resolve this issue in 4 months. Customer rep called me after I emailed but until then no one called to follow up on the status and twitch still continues to buffer erratically, sometimes it's fine, sometimes no.
Under Unifi, this was a no issue for a very long time during my 2 years contract. I'm sorry but the way Time has been performing is very dissapointing to say the least and they are behaving the same how TM was when they launched streamyx ages.

Latest result still shows this:

Tracing route to live.twitch.tv [199.9.249.120]

Any recommendations for a business class router for TIME fibre? My office was provided with the DLINK DSR-250N router but it has a lot of issues (known DSN issues).
*
Hi Bro,

For business class Routers, you could go for more frequently used Cisco 1900, or more budget RV Series, depending on the size of your network.
(Please avoid models 1841, 2811, 3825, as it's vulnerable to the most recent SYNful Knock firmware implant attacks).

Alternatively you could be using your own Firewall such as Juniper, Fortigate etc.

Just let me know if you require further assistance.

P/S : Please pm me more details on the issue you are facing with the DSR-250N Router.

Thanks.

In your case, big possibility is DNS issue, make sure you are using public DNS such as OpenDNS or Google DNS.

Thanks.

Getting very slow speed now in Kelana Jaya despite using a 20mbps connection.  These tests were done using LAN.

Bro, if those 2 screenshots are your test results, the latency value simply translates to inconsistency.

Hang on a while, the full restoration is gradually in progress.
Please try again in 1 hour time.

Meanwhile, please email me your traceroute results.

Thanks.

This is not the issue Bro... we've already feedback to our TS team and full restoration is in progress.

Please keep on monitoring from now on....email me directly should you require Level 2 support.

Hi guys,

thanks for the assistance. Had changed the dns1 and dns2 to the google dns and it worked. SPeed is inconsistent but still sufficient for now.

Now just need to know wat to put in DNS3 ?

Also, i can't call into the 1800-181818 number or even the 03-50212122 number for assistance. Any known issues at the moment ?

ANyhow, very glad to get the tech help needed here. Kudos to jjj2 & yeapch01. thumbup.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

Hi Bro,

Glad it work, for DNS3 or DNS4 (if you have this field in yr router), you can put in OpenDNS (208.67.222.222 & 208.67.222.222).

General CS hotline is congested when there is downtime. Please excuse this.

Thanks.

We're all having the same problem of slowdown during night times. No need to post captured speedtest as there's already enough proof there's really problem.

Is Time Fibre already throttling the speeds during busy hours like Maxish*t?

Username & Password is given to you during installation, in the form of username@timebb (username@astroiptv) & Password.

Definitely feel the same here bro.

I'm not using an AC router yet (eyeing the dual core RT-AC68U) but my RT-N66U has been serving my family well.

For me, a one time investment in a good router is way better than all the worries and headaches I get from any stock ISP router.
*
Hi Bro,

Totally agree..unlike ISP in SG, sadly ISP in Malaysia giving not so high quality Routers...RT-N66U or it's brother RT-AC66U, both are awesome..RT-AC68U is overkilled unless you really need its theoretically branded 1.9Gbps data rates...& of course its USB3.0

Thanks.
