S Voice better in JB
Those on jelly bean try setting your voice recognition to Google instead of vlingo. Then try s voice again. You be surprised s voice on jelly bean has improved significantly Compared to s voice on ics. Jelly bean rocks!

Go to settings, Language and input, voice recognizer. Change to Google.

noobandroid actually whats the big fuss with knox

for non root users, they dont even know it exist.
for people who love root, doesnt matter, you can freeze it and even uninstall it.

it voids warranty? well, same for sony and HTC, in fact it's directly 100% void because method to unlock their bootloader need register in their website, instantly add into their data base that it's void. there is one HTC one guy keep complain purple tint issue and cant get warranty due to bootloader unlocked.

so i feel this knox thing totally irrelavant. since other manufacturer also implement some way of "u root or mess with anything ur warranty gone"

however i think i once read that people with knox trip also samsung honour warranty.

Default Testing of MPJ 3200mah Battery for S3
I have purchased one of the MPJ 3200 mah batteries for the Galaxy S3. I have bench tested the battery over 7 days with multiple charges and discharges.

The results are that the battery is approximately 2000 mah it does not even come close to 3200 mah. The sellor is being misleading on the mah and you are better off buying a standard battery as it has 2100 mah and NFC.

I will try and test a few more batteries in the next couple of weeks..

MPJ 3200 Mah battery review test galaxy s3

i think ebay 4800mAh battery @Rm34 is the better route to go

Yes still on slimrom and I use greenify also - just using it heavily on video recording - so no comment on the battery runtime.

1. Having the 'emergency call only issue' after flashing 4.3 stock firmware thru Odin.
2. After that restore back to factory state followed guidance from xda-developer, but still facing the same problem.
3. Then try to flash few modems, but still have the same problem.

1. Having the 'emergency call only issue' after flashing 4.3 stock firmware thru Odin.
2. After that restore back to factory state followed guidance from xda-developer, but still facing the same problem.
3. Then try to flash few modems, but still have the same problem.

Anyone have any idea to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance

For Slimkat users who are using the latest stable, has anyone faced an occasional reboot by the phone itself? Sometimes when I tap the phone or something, the phone will automatically lock screen lol.

Hi all,

I had some problem with my S3 recently as below

1) Whenever I had assigned specific ringtone to any contact number 1-2 days later it will become default again.

2) I had download cover art for all my songs, same problem that all cover art will lost after few days later and I had to re-download again

3) It often said "no sim card and mobile data will dismiss, please restart your phone"...this phrase appear like 3-5 times per day

I'm so frustrated with it!!  mad.gif  mad.gif  I had send my phone to service center but they say may cause by virus in phone so had to run my phone software. My phone had been sent to run the format for 3 times and it didn't solve my phone problem!!

ANYONE CAN HELP??  cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

guys,
question here, i used to have root on my s3 and i am familiar with rooting procedure. Last night suddenly my phone automatically update thru OTA and i lost my root. Today i tried the rooting process and found that stuck because my phone is ID:COM is unreadable during after booting into download mode but is found by odin on normal boot. I don't think its the cable or usb problem, any suggestion?

This is what I use,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961956
I have given up on Kies already after having it on my machine for a year. Pretty much useless as backup is limited.

Your issue to me does seem like just USB drivers problem if everything else is working fine with your phone (i.e. download mode, recovery mode and phone operates normally)

This is what I use,

I have given up on Kies already after having it on my machine for a year. Pretty much useless as backup is limited.

Your issue to me does seem like just USB drivers problem if everything else is working fine with your phone (i.e. download mode, recovery mode and phone operates normally)
*
many thanks i'll try the drivers you recommended

Make sure you download the .tar file and flash it via Odin - I had trouble as well with v2.6.3.0
Sebelum flash Slimkat - ada buat backup utk stock ROM ka?

Hi Bro,

Slimkat build 5 is running fine on my phone even getting up to 3 hrs SOT. Flashed the new gapps. However the google camera is not working on panaroma and photoshpere. Any problems with the google camera on archi? Wanna flash and try too if no problems. Did you get the rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/...2354859/page667 ? Thanks.

Huh?? No la. Where u got that info? Similar to Samsung jelly bean.
Got plenty themes. I choose Samsung theme. So if u want it to look like AOSP. Then go for AOSP theme.
Got other colour as well. And you can change it anytime using the aroma installer.
Give a try for a day or two. If u don't like it. Then switch.

eh always forget to ask this question...

boeffla-kernel-5.3-beta3-Samsung-i9300.tar.md5
boeffla-kernel-5.3-beta3-Samsung-i9300.CWM.zip.checksum
boeffla-kernel-5.3-beta3-Samsung-i9300.CWM.zip

tar.md5 is for flashing using odin right?
zip.checksum?
zip can be flashed using recovery.

what are the difference? and are there many more like this?

CheckSumTool allows user to calculate different (e.g. CRC, MD5, SHA-variants) checksums for files. It also can verify files against given (list of) checksums.

source

But last time i accidentally flash the zip.checksum - nothing happen.
TAR extension always using Odin.

no issue. i told u yesterday if not mistaken.

only thing i found issue when u enable both wanam and gravitybox.
so do choose only one.

i went for gravitybox because have pie feature at first. in the end i use LMT to enable pie. which is good.

gravitybox because i like the double tap notification bar to lock feature.
i have not adjusted many stuff...

slimrom and archidroid have the same score.
can't be 17k...slimrom should be more. around 18k plus.

but its just antutu score. stability wise slimrom got some glitches...

What file do you have now?tar file or zip file?
If tar file you need to flash it via Odin in download mode if zip file, can flash it via your current TWRP in recovery mode (press volume UP + home button + power button)

p/s you are referring to TWRP 2.7.0.0 right?
If yes than follow the steps that i mentioned above.

tar = using Odin in download mode.

Ok now go and find the previous backup file in the TWRP folder - TWRP - BACKUPS - another folder - another folder with the date that you backup (cut and paste this file some where else)

download the twrp 2.7.0.0 zip file to your s3 device - reboot your phone to recovery mode and flash that twrp 2.7.0.0 zip - reboot system

One more thing - during 2nd backup using twrp 2.7.0.0 - does your device have enough memory to save that 2nd backup?

go for stock kernel and see..
cause archi was eas explaining to another user claiming that stock kernel is very stable....

or switch ur boeffla presets to standard. boeffla standard. not archi standard.

boeffla standard is based on stock kernel preset.

Definitely but right now so getting use to stock base ROM - kind of lazy to migrate but might give it a try for the sake of experimenting.

im staying for a while...
slimrom is good. i recommend it for performance and stability.
the camera fix is already available. so no issue.
only thing is the glitches when u close an app, suddenly contacts will appear and disappear. only a minor glitch.

for those who wants to experience kit-kat, go for slimrom...

any temasek user here??

Hardware issue? I saw your post on XDA many times dy, got Google camera issue some more, honestly I don't . And I don't know which version onwards perhaps v85? No more hangs or weird theme or reboot dy. If got time try use stock and run stability test if crash then not rom problem dy.
I'm using Boeffla 2.3 b1 though. Beta three tends to over heat fast compare to that of b1 using the set cpu stability test.

i have previously mentioned a few post/page back since i can't root my phone. From all the reply on xda it seems that my bootloader has changed and it prevents odin from reading my phone during download mode and now many suggest is downgrade thru kies.

TL;DR version - OTA update has broken root, try to re-root but odin can't read id com on download mode but not in working conditon. Tried many different ver of odin, usb cables and 2 laptops still don't work.
