Actually, I had a thought; consumers like us shouldn't face much problem with 18SX figures. It's the resellers/shops that import those figures in large quantities that I heard in greater frequency of being seized.

My wager is that they see "Collectible toy X 1" on the box, and they assume it's a Barbie that a dad had bought for his daughter, or an Iron Man action figure collector, thus later they gave the pass.

As for discs and books; unless it's event-exclusive stuff (like doujin games from Comiket) or limited editions, there's really nothing you can't find on DLsite or DMM (or pirates). Either commit to bringing them back, or don't buy them in the first place. Like I said, be as inconspicuous as you possibly can.

Sometimes for just an extra 200-400 yen, you can upgrade shipping from SAL to EMS. 2 weeks wait shortened to 1 week at most at just an extra RM20, might as well, no? Or sometimes you just want that stuff as quickly as physically possible.

well i bought a DD bust which is naked...well it naked anyway coz it a part...i wrap it in paper ... mana tau like i said..i didnt even need to pass the x ray scanner they tell me juz go it okay no need check wth...

hentai/ecchi disc huh...well at first i wanted to get the fairy tale series scale figure..den i think probably wont past so i didnt get at the end...vinyl/figure is so cheap...though the popular tend to be scalper..some shop lock the popular one behind glass cabinet with freaking sky high price...

Sorry, i dont have the patience to wait 2 weeks; Most taobao or ebay sellers also use SAL by default, and i try hard not to fliptable. Express from western countries are no joke, very expensive, so, i try to deal with the 2 week wait.
As a photographer i want my preorder stuff - especially - fast, because i will be one of the first ones to come up with high quality photos and set the standards. When a new product is out people want more and more photos, u take the lead, it's your advantage when it comes to gaining a name, attention, and traffic to your site. Already released figure a few months ago not so important in terms of arrival speed.

If you declared your stuff as printed materials (books or discs), most of the time they will open the parcel without your consent (there are some Acts that are quite strict about this). Hence why whenever I want to import some doujins last time through my friend in Japan, he will put it inside other stuff (bottom of the gunpla box for example) and declare it as that other stuff (meaning the doujins itself was not declared).

If you went to Japan and brought them back to Malaysia, you can just stow away the disc or books in between your clothes and other stuff, and will pass without much hassle.

No wonder la.

Just to share my experience. I agree with buying 18sx figures from Japan and passing customs without a problem. Done that multiple times before when on project in Tokyo years ago.

As for discs.. I too have been safe so far. Bought a JAV and hentai disc once. Placed them between clothes in my check-in luggage. Arrived in KLIA, walked pass customs officer like a boss. Last year bought a 18sx magazine and just put it in a pocket of my luggage. No problem. There was once I bought a fleshlight and just put it between my clothes. A succubus must be hovering over me coz I've evaded the officers so far. Or.. they are just lazy.

I got my Inshun already and did the photos last night. Tough one, but still work in progress when it comes to post processing. This figure is so damn difficult to assemble and has a very thin connection peg at the pony tail which I broke it T.T Oh well, hi Superglue. The peg is only about 1mm in diameter. =.=

Trying to track down some older Kotobukiya Bishoujo figures. I'm having trouble even finding them, let along finding them at a reasonable price. I think the line has just skyrocketed the past two years. Le this be a lesson to you: Don't cancel pre-orders. Cause catching is isn't easy, and it sure ain't cheap.

the collectors dilemma... always. to pre order or not to pre order.

scenario 1: you pre order... it sells out fast, you're a happy bunny. price skyrockets. wise choice.
scenario 2: (same as scenario 2 but they release another colour version. price drops. you scream bloody murder (and much much more profanities especially if the second release is in a colour you'd much prefer).
scenario 3: you pre order thinking it's gonna be a hot favourite. then it bins. sucks big time.
scenario 4: you don't pre order thinking it's gonna bin but the price skyrockets/unable to find one upon release. sucks big time... again.
