i thought you dont want flat and wants subwoofer? r2800 no subs, all 2.0 speakers.

True, I had my sight locked at AE Aego M. Unfortunately I am about 5 or 6 years late, the speaker is very hard to find these day. Should've bought it when I had the chance back then..

Also, after toying with several 2.1 PC speaker I don't think any of them come close to my old Truth B3030A in term of natural reproduction of my music. Certain backing instruments like violin and keyboard are almost unheard due to powerful subwoofer and piercing treble. The clarity just isn't same. Sound separation also very narrow.

If I can find a budget 5" monitor, that's fine as well.

r2800 look nice but the size is a concern for me. Is it using 8" driver?

R2500 already EOL.
You can give R1900TV or R2000DB a try.

that's why i recommended S530D since you wanted multimedia speakers.
i'm using them currently and i find them just nice for all rounder be it pricing/performance/trebles/bass smile.gif

r2800 is indeed huge:

the TV is a 46"

Aego M 100% not my thing, no bass.
no bass = no go.

Hmm, my S730D is not making any sound. Weird. Tried pc input using the red and white to 3.5mm cable and also digital input using the Optical cable. Wonder why. Haven't used it for a month though

tried checking the fuse?

you'd be surprised how one fuse could lead to so many weird problems

My S530D did once light up but didn't make any sound. Changing the fuse could magically do wonders (and I have no idea what causes that)

Is it okay to unscrew it? Worried it'll cause damage

just don't touch the legs of the fat capacitors inside and don't knock anything too hard
you should be fine with that

fuse should be outside of the unit without unscrewing to get in. Why go in so far? hmm.gif

For budget RM250, i will recommend you m3250 or e3100.
Please test it before you buy.

I have sent it to a local audio shop. Will know about the problem tomorrow. Btw if I were to have the satellites on the wall, what do I use? Normal nails? It's quite heavy. Scared that I'll drop it

nails could work only if the head is fat enough to hold the lugs (sometimes I recommend screws but nah they scratch things up badly)

you might need speaker brackets so you can position the speaker to face you. sweat.gif
