The reason it did not score 100% for Enchanted Cut Score is probably because of the crown angle of 35.5 degrees.

GIA rounds up the average of 8 crown angles to the nearest 0.5 degree. So 35.5 degree crown can actually be 35.7 degrees or 35.3 degrees. We won't want the crown angle to go too steep because this will cause some light leakage. Anyway, I have read that 35.5 degree is an acceptable crown angle but to me, there is still some risk. But nonetheless, assuming the crown angle is exactly at 35.5 degree crown angle, this diamond has pretty good proportions. In fact, the pairing of steep crown angle and shallow pavilion angle is a good combination. Ideally, crown angle and pavilion angle should be the inverse of each other from what I have read.

As for the price, RM 5,500 for such specs I think is acceptable. Given the fact that what I found from WhiteFlash is more expensive.

At RM 5,500 it is close to a 0.402 E VVS2 https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/r...id=myengringexp (affiliate link) that I could get from WhiteFlash. The WF diamond costs USD 1202. Using exchange rate of 4.35 (M2U TT Rate) + 6% GST the price in MYR is around 5,542.42, including some misc. charges such as GST on shipment and insurance, the final price should be around RM 5,580. Despite that, the GIA diamond is still bigger at 4.79 x 4.83 x 2.95 mm vs 4.71 x 4.74 x 2.92 mm.

Another WhiteFlash diamond that has almost the same specs is this: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/r...id=myengringexp (affiliate link). This one costs USD 1350. Include GST & misc. charges, it will cost RM 6,250. The size is around the same as the GIA diamond @ 4.80 x 4.82 x 2.97 mm.

Since I am able to find that diamond in Enchanted Diamonds, this means that the diamond is not in your vendor's hand. Therefore, basically you are buying blind. To overcome this, you can request your vendor to provide you the diamond images (Hearts & Arrows, IdealScope, ASET, Actual Diamond Image). We won't know how well cut it is until we can see it. My guess so far is that is should be above the average cut because Enchanted Diamonds gave it a Master Cut rating at 97.2%, but then, again, it is best if we can verify it.

My guess is that this diamond score 97.2% is probably because of its total depth at 62.3% (ideally, we should keep it at 62% max). If you take a look at the images, the Hearts & Arrows have a smaller heart at the 11 o'clock position, while the IdealScope shows light leakage at the 10 and 11 o'clock position (whitish area). That's why I said images are important.

Hi guys. I am interested in buying a proposal ring right now. Need it by mid-December before I head to US. Therefore, all the inputs here by sifu will be very useful to me.

To start it off, before coming here, I have go around in MV-Gardens to survey for the diamond rings. Tomei, Goldheart, Love&co, Wah Chan, Poh Kong and Le Lumiere. From the 1st 2 shops, I still wasn't sure want I wanted in a diamond. Luckily, I met some good sales person who willing to explain to me all the 4C and also their products. At first, I set my minimum diamond as colour E, clarity VVS2, 3Ex cut and 0.4 carat; budget RM6k. But after going through the few initial shops, I realised that with that budget, I am unable to achieve that kind of diamond spec I wanted.  Then I went on to do my own 'homework' by researching and reading about diamonds. I learned that with limited budget, you can't always get the best of all 4C. Also putting Cut > Carat > Colour > Clarity as my priority. I have friends that disagree that cut should not be the most important of all 4C. Some said carat, some said colour and clarity. After all the readings and surveying, I still believe Cut is the most important factor for a good diamond. I remembered someone mentioned that "Cut is King", and I totally agree with that. No matter how big or how clear your diamond is, if it don't sparkle or shine brilliantly, it is not a perfect diamond for me.

Now, after all the above, I have now set my new minimum for a diamond; Cut has to be perfect, around 0.4 carat (+/-), clarity SI1 and colour G with budget >RM7k (including the ring). I am not sure if I can be getting this with this kind of budget. So far, I know Le Lumiere has the closest but with lesser carat (GIA 5256615959) and color (GIA 7261392761). Both are RM6688 and RM6388 respectively. Love&co, the specs might be lower if not mistaken but compared with Le Lumiere I saw, the diamond performance are better than Love&co; sparkles more brightly. Another option is to go for diamond and ring separately (like in Wah Chan). I looked for JannPaul and Brian Gavin; I have to say their diamond looks amazing (thou by picture and videos only) and it fulfill my requirements of good cut (Hearts and Arrows).

Here begins my headache moments. Although my gf once told me to decide on the diamond ring, I am unsure if I should go for those ready made well-known diamond ring brand (like Love&co, Hemera, Le Lumiere and etc) or should I go for those customize diamond and ring (like Brian Gavin, Audrey, Wah Chan, JannPaul and etc). Ladies and guys thinking may be a bit different you see... guys are more to technical stuff than just looking at brand (specs, performance, etc) while ladies usually go for brand (Tiff&co, Love&co, etc).

Any opinion or suggestion based on the above? If I were to order those diamonds from Brian Gavin for example, you think it can fit my budget and enough time to do the setting as well? Thought of JannPaul too but I don't know if can fit my budget as well. Worry if I go SG then end up with failure. Hope all the sifu here can give me some guidance.

Brands is just brands. I believe if you want to get a better setting, I would go elsewhere and not Wah Chan. Diamond however you can get from there or you can get from Whiteflash like sifu above have mentioned.

It really depends on which route you want to go with, really. (1) Surprise on ring and proposal (2) Surprise on proposal
You could go with what kambingkoh said by doing on the holder first then select a setting.
