Normal software as in microsoft words and so on, no randering software.
And for the casing, if change it to CM, which one would be better.
And how about add SSD, can reduce other? if possiblee.

i think later add SSD better, to much to cramp in your budget, unless you want to sacrifice that GPU which is not recommended.
or maybe go with CM K380 casing and non-modular PSU, maybe can get small size SSD.

Yaa thinking on that too, will probably add an SSD later on.
Reduce to non-modular and get a small size SSD, i dont think its worth it. *that's my opinion only.

Intel follows a "tick tock" product life cycle. The current Haswell processors are under the "Tock" cycle, meaning it's a completely new architecture and featuring new LGA 1150 socket.

The next refresh would be Broadwell under "Tick", while still remaining under the same socket. After that, Intel will come out with a new socket all together, and the cycle repeats itself again. So the board that you have should be able to support the upcoming Broadwell processors (I have no idea when this will be released though). More read here.

I would suggest going with at least a good 500W PSU in order to have support for GTX 760 / R9 270. Definitely, R9 270 is faster than GTX 750 Ti. R9 270 is not in the chart below, but it is roughly faster than HD 7870 and slower than R9 270X. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the resourceful reply bro, appreciate it! The rig suggested to me shouldn't have any issue dual booting with hackintosh if needed to, right? tongue.gif just wondering.

Hello masters of custom rigs! Need suggestions for a build with details below:

[Budget]
RM4k

[Purpose]
Mainly as a gaming rig, work stuff (graphic design and illustrations) and everyday use (net browsing, downloading, office document processing)

[Hardwares that will be re-use]
Have existing peripherals like mouse and keyboard, 23" Samsung monitor and speakers.
May salvage my 1TB HDD.

[Monitor resolution]
1920 x 1080 - I'm reusing my monitor.
I'm setting a seperate budget for a second monitor for future investment but that's a different story.

[Games & software that use frequently]
Games that I can literally push the settings to the max - BF4, AC4 Black Flag, Tomb Raider, Skyrim
Software - Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Painter, MS Office

[Personal preferences]
- Quote with price on the items
- Throw in an SSD as system drive and an extra 1TB as storage drive.
- Chassis - Sleek and badass design with sufficient aircooling flow. I know there're tons in the market which is hard to decide, so I'll allocate around RM250-400 for one within the RM4k build.
- GPU - I'm more of an Nvdia person.
- At the moment I'm not looking to OC, nor having as water cooling setup.
- Prefered vendor - IdealTech

[Location]
Kuala Lumpur

Appreciate you insight and many thanks notworthy.gif

Core i3 4130 is RM339 only. However, you intend to use for office work only right? In that case, the Pentium will suffice for your needs. smile.gif

Thanks rav3n82! thumbup.gif
I was thinking an i5 4670 CPU would be suggested instead of a Xeon CPU. Am I correct to say this rig is suggested with the intention of not OC-ing? Please clarify if I'm wrong about that. Although currently I don't have plans but I may have itchy hands to OC in the future icon_rolleyes.gif

You're right, the quoted rig is for non-OC intent. Ah..preparing just in case eh? biggrin.gif In that case, yes you can just consider going with i5 4670K instead and a Z97 board.

Intel Core i5 4670K - RM769
Asrock Z97 Pro4 - RM479
