thumbsup.gif nice, maybe it's your setup or the guitar/PU itself, never thought this kind of guitar (in a good way) could produce such a good glaring treble tongue.gif

or i've been listening too much of hollow body guitar with crazy amount of reverb/delay/chorus haha

well cant blame you really, the tone and treble is due to the brand - Gretsch, which for some reason despite it being featured in almost every major recording every decade (cept maybe the last), faded into obscurity

add that with almost every jazz cat out there rolling off the tone knob for mud, most people dont know what sounds these guitars can do.

Considering that they made good sounding guitars, they're fading into obscurity, AND they're expensive, I wonder why they never went the budget route and release a range of slightly less expensive instruments like what PRS and ESP and Gibson and everyone else had done.

they did for a very long time, the eletromatic/streamliner series

actually one of the more reasonably priced guitars out there, an MIK for about 4k, china for about 1k coz no one buys them so can get old stock for cheap

i think recently the MIK turned into MIC , but im not sure about the quality coz never seen one before.

Oho, I didn't realize that. Eh, not bad also la actually, the streamliner doublecutaways are especially interesting. Wouldn't it be cool if they made 7 string versions of these hahaha I'd totally go onstage with one, just for the hell of it biggrin.gif

iirc they are all hollows including the streamliner , so the 7 string would have heaps of feedback

but gretsch is odd, it just fell off the map after the 80s or something. yet folks are willing to pay for a MIK 5 figure dussernberg with is pretty much a lesser gretsch

now i want a duo jet tho , sigh gas never ends

not sure what you mean

they are fine guitars, naturally depending on the mode
