That's his natural colour. Usually with male gliders, when they grow older, there might be yellow stains on their chest area because of their scent glands. That's normal. But chocolate colour...hmm -- trying using baby wipes to clean his fur, maybe? But be gentle about it yah! coz mine are a bit yellowyish n dirty in color...althought the head part got a bit clean than 1st came...but the stomach area are coklat color....haha |

Hairless QUOTE(misa @ Oct 8 2006, 12:21 AM) A male Sugar Glider will turn bald when it gets mature. Don't be surprise. That is their scent marking spot. It uses to make the female to make note that the female belongs to it.The main reason why the price of male is cheaper than female because female don't have any visible scent gland. Female doesn't get bald. |

It uses to make the female to make note that the female belongs to it. Well, I know they have a balding spot on their head -- it's diamond shaped. But if they're bald bald, like totally bald it means they're stressed out and have been overgrooming themselves -- feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. But from the description given about the Seri Kembangan glider -- I thought the glider was like totally hairless. The main reason why the price of male is cheaper than female because female don't have any visible scent gland. i just got my female joey, Moochi, yesterday night. she seems scared and keeps on crabbing whenever i move my finger near to pat her. after a few pats i managed to scoop her up, with a lil more crabbing, but after awhile she was climbing all over me. and she has the tendency to jump around alot.
the next morning, i was back to square one |

Please read up about gliders -- how to bond with them (it takes time and a lot of patience and you can't force them to do anything) also read up about their nutritional requirements. They need fresh fruits as well. the next morning, i was back to square one Refer to the following links: Trust, Bonding http://www.sugargliderinfo.com/Bonding/ About Gliders! Ah.... you should buy my glider food lah hahaha... kidding lah.the next morning, i was back to square one Blueberry jam, a bit is ok... did you buy those that got no added sugar? Anyway, nice meeting you yesterday It will take some time for Moochi to learn to trust you. It is better for you to buy a pouch and hang her around your neck under your shirt coz got your bodyheat and smell.... you do that, sure she will get used to you and bond... Intro some fresh fruits such as apples, honey dew, carrot, jambu air, sun mellon, grapes and pears.... gliders love these. 2 months old still dunno how to eat mealworms, you take a mealworm, cut the head and squeeze out the juice of the mealworm for Moochi to eat lah. She will lick it and this is part of hand bonding training. You can feed her yogurt using your fingers too. |

Good to know they like it hey, done that. it wasn't so difficult to get moochi into the pouch as compared to trying to do stuff while having her in a pouch around my neck. she does eat mealworms, only if they're dead. she loves applesauce Ah.... you should buy my glider food lah hahaha... kidding lah. QUOTE(seryoung @ Oct 9 2006, 04:34 PM) Yay! Haih, BabyBoy is acting like a pig these days. Very naughty. He finished eating his mealworms (6 mealies) then ate a few tiny pieces of fruits. Two hours later, I was eating some watermelon -- he heard the plastic only, he poked his head out of the pouch and stretched his hand out. Then these days at night, he eats a bigger portion of his dinner -- more of Hun's glider mix -- a big tablespoon of chopped fruits -- a tablespoon of veggies. And he cleans his plate up! It's cool that he's got a good apetite though. Mainly I'm happy because of the glider mix. I'm not so stressed out about his nutritional needs. Today he jumped from my head to my bookcase and disappeared for an hour. Found him fast asleep on top of a few books. Adoi. I just ate some asam and he also poked his head out. But no, no, no, he can't have that. Haha! Just now I was having dinner also he was just looking! Worse than my cat this one. This post has been edited by misa: Oct 9 2006, 08:59 PM |
