Unfortunately, we have overused the mojo. Not supposed to be challenging for title but we are there now. No more mojo left I am afraid. No timeline for the comeback as well biggrin.gif

Icing on the cake ma friend, Icing on the cake. We cement our UCL place, Suarez happy, everyone happy, Suarez got many many awards from England FA, meaning England FA accepted him. So we are doing a lot of good things this season. Just enjoy it.

Seriously enough with the defeatist attitude. Not good or consistent enough ? How about 11 games winning streak ? To say otherwise is to rob the players, BR and the staff off all the hardwork and milestones they have set this season.

They have given us joy and made us dream. So ff you had enjoyed large part of the season then you need to suck it up and take the disappointments.

This has been a special season at least for me. It's been an immensely entertaining, upsetting, frustrating and absolutely addictive season. Whatever happens - i am proud to be a Liverpool supporter and more so i am proud of the players, BR, the staffs and all you fine posters who has made this season fun and memorable.

Chin up and let's see us through the season. We've come a long way to be where we are today. Next season we go again!

Some serious additions would be required to maintain momentum in the league as well as progress in Europe. I guess it's an exciting time for Liverpool fans.

Consistently in leaking goals. tongue.gif laugh.gif
Joking only.

They point I bring out for deserving champion material is how to defeat team convincingly, not nail biting almost every matches especially lately, which Liv seems lack of this factor.
But Mancity did.
Compared to 80's, whereby whenever Liv played, fans more and less can expect a win, and win comfortably and fans enjoyed the "show", this is what I called deserving champion materials.
But now, every match, we ponder whether Liv can outscore opponent to win a match or not.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying the 11 games winning streak is not good, it is a good season already.
BR has done a lot of goodwork and over-achieved, but still I see lack of some "class" and character for a league champion.
Hope the team can progress well, as I also know, it is work in progress. icon_rolleyes.gif

I find it odd that some are saying we aren't deserving of the title or we aren't championship material when we're still in second place. We aren't a perfect team but we're certainly title contenders. If we do win it, everyone will attribute it to the fact we've taken the game to teams the whole season.

jumping from 7th place last season to at least 2nd place this season is a huge victory for me at least. Being a title contender is a bonus, considering how much liverpool spend on player compare to chelsea and man city. It is 1st season for BR (it is right?) and he did a good job already, plus he did say CL is the main target.

That enough, despite i am sad to see liverpool almost no chance to win BPL this season, still its a good achievement already. Let the other said bla bla bla loserpool loserfool or whatever, only true liverpool supporters knows what it meant to be a true fans, for example like when after losing to chelsea the fans still singing YNWA like we're winnging the game.

Look on the bright side. We're in the Champions League and just last year, the forum was filled with doom and gloom. What a difference this year. Much less criticism of players and manager this season. More constructive posts. The way it should always be.

The only people not trolling are City fans.

Go figure.

On the Season:

2013/2014 Liverpool 37 25 6 6 99 49
2012/2013 Liverpool 38 16 13 9 71 43

We've won 25 games so far compares to last seasons 16
We've scored 99 goals compared to last seasons 71

HOWEVER

We've conceded more goals this season - perhaps we were playing for defensively last season?

We change our philosophy this season, trying to attack more to win more games than parking buses every single dam game. So, it showed we are doing good with that.

To improve our defensive struggles, we already have adequate personal except maybe some players like Glen to play defense but just no good defensive coach to discipline them and teach them how to play defense.

Before this I predicted Crystal Palace vs Liverpool draw to be 2-2, seems nearly accurate, only 1 goal less laugh.gif

I would like to make a new prediction here:

Man City vs Aston Villa 4-1
Man City vs West Ham 3-0 smile.gif

Yeah yeah, dillon's PMS last night was super explosive. tongue.gif

Anyway who knows, maybe the Premier League is emulating the drama in La Liga? City losing to Aston Villa 1-0, anybody? biggrin.gif

http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2...tletico-la-liga

To paraphrase the first sentence of the article: "First Chelsea Football Club lost the league, then Liverpool Football Club lost the league, and then Manchester City lost the league. In the end, none of them lost the league."

Highly doubt it though.

I'll just say this much. To play for liverpool FC is a privilege, an honour. Every time you go out there you are supposed to bleed for the team and fight for the team. Each and everyone of them have to earn the right to wear that shirt. Luis Suarez was being an a$$ last year asking to leave the club, but judging from his performance this year, he has earned his right to be a Liverpool player. In my opinion, and just my opinion, others may disagree, but for me some of the players we had this season had been riding on the success of our better players. Did you guys see Luis Suarez crying out there? What did you feel? I felt anger, angry cause I think he gave everything he got to help us win the title. He couldn't give anymore. He's scored more than 30 goals this season, what else do you want him to do? But some of the rest, they either didn't give their best or their best were not good enough. Either way, the fact is this: one of the world's best striker is unlikely to win the Premiership title this season, because his teammates weren't good enough. And he is hurting so much out there yesterday. So if you guys think that now is the time to give a pat on the back to some of his teammates for a job well done this season, then fair play. Your call.

Sure, we did better than we all expected at the start of the season, and credit must be given to he manager and players. But the question that matters to me, and apparently not to some of you, is which players deserve credit. For me, one or two players can be considered to be riding the gravy train. But hey, it is just my opinion.

We are where we are this season because of the way we have played all season. If we were a more cautious side, it's arguable that we would have won 11 games out of 13 before the loss to Chelsea.

Here's a good piece by Paul Tomkins. Echoes what I've been saying all along about hindsight.
