Whole team? hardly so... how could you blame say.. Suarez for the 3 conceded goals?

I always curse when Johnson is playing because he doesnt provide enough cover.

I get tired too.. of his shit. lol..  biggrin.gif

They played as a team not an individual. Where is the team spirit? whistling.gif

If I want to blame anyone I can always come out a reason.

Suarez - losing the ball and makes other tired for chasing back

you see what I did there laugh.gif

Suarez has done more than enough for the team.

Can't even whisper the same for Johnson.

Sorry, I don't like single-ing out players.... but Johnson is just not good enough anymore.

i didn't see the game

but i will say this, the whole team will have to take it from the chin

Collectively we have set out to score as many goals as possible. this is evident. rodgers hinted this prior to our game against crystal palace. We didn't give a shit of how CP might respond. Judging from the made mention of johnson's ventures upfield, it only established what i thought.

Go out & attack & score as many goals. Rodgers believed we can do it. we did go 3-0. To believe we can do it with intensity for 90minutes is well. rodgers believed we can. I think the team tried. It showed from the photos (post game of suarez etc)

I won't single out glen. I think our squad did their best (at our standard of bench). Look, mCity showed how to maintain speed of the game. (we need to learn this), changing tempo/gears. Overall they had a wee bit more consistency in the season. We had composure in some games, time we have a better overall bench to support our first 11.

I hope, i pray suarez will not be tempted by galactico (i'm pretty sure they, Rmadrid will come now when last season they had sights for bale)

well, Suarez actually have done so much for the team and got the awards to back his performance this season. question is, is he going to feel that the team is weighing him down. its very clear after the match that he was really sad not to win it sad.gif

you'd think after conceding 2 the defense would buck up.. but no.

Let down by shoddy Defending...

And as Carra said, the strikers have been bailing out the defense again and again.

I'd take a 3-0 win over a 6-3 win any day.

I m tired of convincing you laugh.gif but I just dont think we should just solely blame Johnson.

Like I say before they played as a team all player are responsible for the lost that night.

Its glad to see Suarez not being selfish around the first 20mins but after that he was gone just like Sturridge. Both striker sometimes worrying me when they dont pass it to each other in the final third. They were all looking for Steerling when the chances of him passing the ball back is higher than the other (Suarez/Sturridge).

As i said before, we leak the goal due to DM doesnt give enough cover to defender/fullback when they goes into opponent half. Gerrard rarely chase opponent. His age already reached the limit. He better play as AM midfielder because his strength is at attacking part.defensive part poor.

We can only speculate that with Hendo, we would have had a much much better chance.

obviously he is looking at MC superiority on GD.

yes now we drop the game everyone can say we lost 2 points but seriously 3-0 up in 50+ mins and you know GD will be key to the championship, would you not go for it?
*
It is good to see the team going for goal feast when 3-0 after 50+ mins.

But with less that 20+ mins left and conceded a goal, at 3-1, then need to be alert the danger losing the lead.
So when conceded, 3-1, priority should be protect the 3 points.

Sums up
Right to go for goal feast when 3-0
But not right to go for it, when 3-1, when just about 10 mins left in normal time.

i think he's best suited in his natural spot, he can take his time and orchestrate the attack from the back while covering the defenders. with him playing as AM, he's gonna retire early because he'll be all over the pitch. besides, we have Sterling,Couts and Allen for that now.

Attack as a team, defend as a team.

i suspect our defensive midfielders were able to prevent the CP's strike force intent. kinda plodding down into 3 quarter and bypassing midfielders?

I hard, I'm gutted to see the images of suarez. I truly hate the comments of other fans (today's local radio DJ's, fB comments laughing at what they terms as our meltdown)

Call it whatever,

I wore a liverpool jersey today. I know whatever score , whatever event that happen, i'm still a fan. I don't go hiding if we were 7th place, 8th place or relegation battle.
Many of us are a fan of liverpoolfc over a lifetime, in good times & low times.

Thank you rodgers, suarez, gerrard & the rest of liverpool. You reminded many of us the virtue of LiverpoolFc spirit. disappointment & sparrows, for now. but it will be faith & stronger spirit in the near future
It may not be then end of our season (yet) but we love it still for the ride

not bad considering we were 33-1 odds of becoming champions at the start of the season.

anyway, leaky defense when a team is set to attack is hardly surprising. i just hope next season brandon will relook at this. we need to have a balance, and learn to shut up shop when we are leading.

oh finally, defending from set pieces, OMFG!

Whn Gerrard play as DLP he has more time and space to dictate the play and spray passes, doubt he'll be able to do that if he plays as AM.Opponent would have close him down real quick.

But saying this doesn't mean I do not agree with you that DM is not providing enough cover. Just that I don't think moving Gerrard to AM would help.

The disappointments here show how far we've come. From 7th to challenging the title.

Just found that only Mignolet and Sakho are the signings we've incorporated into starting XI. Others were players who finished 7th last season.

Huge, huge credit to BR. Even if we don't claim the title in this season, I believe he will lead us to a few seasons later. This doesn't mean I've discounted our title chance for this season, everything's possible. Its not over until its over.

Just keep believing everyone biggrin.gif

65% possession, 26 shots, 9 on target

with the draw, even rodgers have conceded the fight (bar a super mCity meltdown)

Rodgers concedes the title push

Well so it seems you guys are satisfied with the draw after letting go of a three goal lead. Up to you then. If I was manager, even at bottom club like Cardiff, i would never ever be happy with letting a 3 goal lead go. If you lose to Chelsea because of one slip by Stevie G, that is still okay. It happens. Letting go of a three goal lead? That is not how champions should be. Simply put, we don't deserve to be champions after that.

Rafa Benitez is always capable of finding areas to improve even when we are winning. That is what I like about him. While some of you may be happy with how our team is right now, there are also those who are capable of seeing in whcih area we should improve. If you guys can't see that our defense need improvement, then I really don't know what to say. Jamie Carragher himself has criticised our defense, Skrtel, Sakho. Not only that, he wasn't happy with Mignolet either. When I criticised the defense, I didn't say our overall performance this season is not good enough. It has been a fantastic season but saying our defense does not need improvement is simply burying one's head in the sand. And one way of improving is to show some of our defenders out the door and bring in better players. That's not rocket science.

QUOTE(Mikeshashimi @ May 6 2014, 11:01 AM)
"You can't feel sorry for Liverpool in this situation because the standard of their defending is not acceptable," stated Carragher

"Even when they have been winning games, it's been 4-3, it's 6-3, it's 3-2 and we always felt that their defence would come back and haunt them with the goals they conceded. This was the night when that back four and the goals they conceded as a team defensively came back to haunt them.

"The strikers normally get them out of jail and at 3-2, Sturridge and Suarez nearly got them out of jail again, but you can't keep conceding goals at this level and expect to win big trophies.

My sentiments exactly...

Altho he should have stated Johnson has been shit.

TBH,

1. Johnson performance was shit. Look at how he defense... Leaving space for people to shoot and pass. I think that the first 2 goals conceded came from him.

2. Defense needs lot of improvement

I am sad yes, but when Rodger keep attacking after 3-0, i knew what he was doing. Going to close the gap on GD.

Its ok guys, we really over achieved this season. Let's see how far we can go next season when we reinforce our team with much better players.

rafa is a perfectionist, its just too bad he didn't have the support from the board

That being said, rodgers will learn from this. I can't emphasise anymore then i have respect of BRodgers to learn his mistakes. Technically I would rate him behind rafa, and for now even behind houllier. (i know some will verdantly disagree).

Well, it bolls down to having to make changes to the team with substitutes that stabilise or improve the team (win). many or most of rodgers sub inclusions have been (in my opinion) not help greatly. We starts of well no doubt. Both houllier & rafa never had several speed demons with skills to match in the likes of suarez + sturidge + sterling + courtino.

It's my opinion anyway. I thnk rodgers will access the season as a whole. we never have real quality on the bench. its still a good season overall to me.
The consensus is until we win a trophy (with BR at the helm), we are building as a team, we have a youthful squad, we don't want to be a wannabee, even wenger with his attractive philosophy football won trophies before.

The disappointment will be our motivation next season & beyond.
