That friend cannot offer UCL so I'm not worried.

However the other friend can offer UCL. They can offer good pay with special role of playing football from the bench

i thought we have yellow jersey in the 80's right?

We have yellow jersey in the 90's too. Spice Boys era.

And lately 2006-2007 remember Torres wearing them.

just to add... we cannot expect opposition managers to not have learnt how to deal with our gameplay...

We need a powerful CF like Drogba. Lukaku seems right but JM will never sell him to us. Anyway, with an increase income from TV rights, CL matches and finishing 2nd, need to invest in quality. I've always felt younger players need to play at least in cup ties.

Our bench felt so light compared to Chelsea, City. We went far in league this season due to our lack of european matches. Next season how we cope will be interesting.

I don't think BR fancy this kind of striker.
So far BR transfer recruit generally were not physical built one, and Liv was not playing like Heskey-Owen combo type whereby GK pumped up the ball, one headed down to partner to strike goal.

Currently Liv lack of players that can shoot from distancel, like Hamann, Berger and young Gerrard.

Alonso is good in long shot too, can't remember did he score in the 3-3 CL final.

He scored a penalty rebound. It was Smicer who had the long shot

The type of players BR want are those who have good technical ability, football intelligence and willing to press forward and track back.

I wanted to say Kuyt but seems too old for BR standard's and occasionally technically-lacking.

The only reason (i think) BR not fancy physically built striker is probably because they are not technically gifted as those smaller size striker and the fact that BR's tactics now rely more on pace means that most if not all of the big strikers would have no chance of featuring in his plan because of the lack of pace. However, given how pacey Lukaku( and the latest name linked happened to be Cavani if Suarez is sold) is, I reckon these names might be considered. Let's also not forget these two are never one-trick player who just hold the ball up for others.

If anything, I would say that physically built striker would be considered only if they have techniques and skills that BR wants and not some one trick big man upfront. Then again, let's not forget BR is one who change from time to time... He changed his formation and philosophy to make sure he gets the best from the team. The fact that we dont have a plan B (which chelsea game has shown us that we can be stopped) probably means that a different kind of striker might be brought in to cater the need for fresh ideas and creativity. Wouldn't surprise if we get a certain Dzeko,Lukaku type of players but let's not get your hope too high because we all know the priorities lie on 1 DM, 1-2 CD, 1 RB (if johnson leaves), 1 GK (for backup) and 1 LB ... Striker is probably the least we need now that Borini is back.

Honestly I still miss the 25仔 Torres, if he is still in Liverpool, plus Suarez and Sturidge, what kind of partnership they will be!!!

He is not the same Torres we use to know anymore after the injury. We were lucky to offload him for 50million but unfortunately we wasted most of it into some fringe player.

Agree that if only if BR decided to bring in big physical built striker, then it would be those with the physical ability and also with a bit of pace and technical ability.
That would be either Lukkaku, Dzeko, Costa(impossible yea), Ibrahimovic(yea, in my dream). Who else? I hv no idea.. laugh.gif
