QUOTE(NismoConcept @ May 6 2014, 09:57 AM) The problem is BR alone. Leading 3 -0 away from home you should have parked the damn bus with 10 minutes to go. Instead, he brought Moses in! Should have brought Agger / Kolo to beef up the defence with 5 def at the back. I hope he learn from this match and never repeat the same mistake. I hope you all agree with me on this. Seriously, I think the mistake came from Coutinho's sub. Besides I feel that we urgently need to find better RB and LB. Johnson is not the same old Johnson we used to see. Flano is a bit slow IMO. What we can do now is to hope that MC to lose 1 match to stand any chance. I hope they will slip up. 1. His passing was poor coming, not his usual self. 2. He did not track back as what Sterling would have done Moses seems more effective than Coutinho, at least he tracked back and put pressure on the ball. Finding the scapegoat in Moses just because he has not been performing in other games and leave nothing on Coutinho is not a fair judgement. I'm a big fan of Lucas but he was pissed poor last night as well. Seems like he wasn't in the same wavelength with the rest of the guys. On the bright side, we were 30 odd points behind last season and only scored 40 odd goals this time last year. It has been a good fight, and hope the players and managers learn from this. The fight is not over yet though, anything can still happen to City. Unlikely but possible, just like who would've thought that we will concede 3 in the final 10 mins? |

QUOTE(reehdus @ May 8 2014, 03:37 PM) We already had one Istanbul this season...Crystanbul against us Worst case scenario, we lose and Chelsea wins, we go 3rd. It's not the end until the end, but the table could very well turn against us.Nonetheless, we still achieve our objective of top 4. 1. Watching us play fluid football (improvement needed in defense of course). 2. Challenging for title. 3. Dismantling Spurs, Arsenal, Man Utd and Everton. Taking on Man City and Chelsea head on and giving them a run for their money. 4. Rise of Flanagan, Henderson, and Sterling. So many other things to sum up this season for our team. We really need to strengthen next year as it is clearly proven that we need some quality replacements for injuries especially Henderson. PS: And of course, the fall of reigning champions. I'm not celebrating this, but some people really need to learn some humility. |

QUOTE(carloz28 @ May 14 2014, 08:32 AM) How come we are not 'waiting 3 seasons' for Mr. Aspas to blossom into the next Suarez? Aspas will not get any game time, and seriously, he's not the same level as Suarez. He's even behind Moses in the line up. It will not be fair to keep him and he won't want to stay anyway. If we ended up 5th or so, I'd say we keep him and strengthen somewhere else, but since we are in CL and has some money to spend, why not.And I thought Lucas Leiva has passed the 3 seasons test so we must be making a huge mistake for letting him go I'm a big fan of Lucas. I'm not sure if he will leave but I would say after his injury, he's never the same OR he is not as effective in BR's strategies. Also, in BR's line up, it seems like his anchor DM role is limited to 1 only and we have Stevie G in there. Wouldn't be fair to keep him either. His case would be similar to Kuyt for me really. Inherited from Rafa, change of style, change of play - someone has to go. Will we have Suso and Ibe back next season? Hope BR can turn them around like how Sterling has as I believe they can play some big part in 14/15 especially we will have more games to play for. |

QUOTE(reehdus @ May 14 2014, 12:25 PM) Here's what I've been thinking looking at our current squad: Wow, Rafa is also up for Masch. This could be tough as Rafa has a very big influence on his career.Strikers: As most have mentioned, I think we need a strong backup for SAS. Aspas doesn't cut it and Borini, well, he's done really well at Sunderland, but he failed to impress during his stint at Anfield. I'm in favor of selling Borini to Sunderland and Aspas back to Spain and perhaps picking up another highly rated star who'll seamless slot in to SAS so we can rotate. Edit: Lukaku anyone? Attacking Midfield/Wingers: We've all been really impressed with the ability of Couts and Sterling, though I think this is an area we need to bolster up on as well. Coutinho can look out of sorts and Sterling is of course still young. Wishful thinking, but perhaps 1 or 2 major names like Shaqiri, De Maria or even Griezmann would add a lot of weight here. It's sad that this season we've only been able to call Allen or Moses as subs in this area. I know Lallana is rated highly, but I'm not completely sold on him. DM/CM: Unfortunately I don't think Lucas or Allen cut it. We should look to sell, despite how well they've performed for us. Stevie G is of course a mainstay, and Henderson is great in this role. The news of us going for Masch or William Carvalho is certainly good, though i'm not sure how good the latter is. Masch though, I'd be extremely happy to have him back. He was part of what will always be in my mind one of the greatest midfields we've ever had in recent times. Of course adding Alonso would be a plus Defense and goalie Goalie first. Yes, we should sign a good backup so we can do what City and United did during the season, drop Mignolet and force him to compete. For sentimental reasons I'd like Reina to stay for this purpose, but I think he's set on leaving. I don't think the second goalie should be a priority though. Centre backs, I honestly don;t think we need anyone else. Perhaps drop Toure and get Ilori back or something, but what we need is more leadership at the back. Perhaps reinstate Agger? He does seem to carry leadership well. For RB and LB positions, I'm in agreement with everyone that we need to bolster them. But I don't exactly know who will fulfill these roles well. From soccernet: "Rumblings out of Barcelona suggest some player shake-ups regardless of the outcome in La Liga's title chase. In a report in The Mirror, Javier Mascherano hinted he's open to a return to Liverpool, where he last played in 2010. The 29-year-old would be available for 9 million pounds, and a move makes sense as the Argentine doesn't seem to fit into Barca's plans anymore. Mascherano hinted in the report that the season-ender vs. Atleti "could be the last for many [Barca] players." Napoli is another team interested in Mascherano's services." 9M? Sign sign!!! |

QUOTE(reehdus @ May 20 2014, 07:47 PM) Aiya...now I hear we're in for Ashley Cole and Diame...don't seem like very ambitious signings, hope the rumours aren't true. Man it's really funny how many rumours there are about us signing players. The EPL hasn't even been over for 2 weeks. It's the only thing to keep all football fans alive during off season and pre-world cup, and something that sells the papers and click counts on the web. |

QUOTE(prash @ May 22 2014, 02:34 PM) good news. Suarez maybe out of the world cup. That's so selfish. A player trains so hard to represent his country and he can probably only play in 3 World Cups yet you are here celebrating the fact that he'll miss it just so he comes back fresh for LFC.http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/luis-sua...-for-world-cup/ Yes we all support LFC, and hope they come back with no injury/fatigue. But there's no way to celebrate him missing out something he has been waiting for 4 years. Especially Suarez, we all know how much it means to him to do well with Uruguay. |

QUOTE(prash @ May 22 2014, 03:59 PM) yes it is selfish I agree but its not like I am jumping around celebrating. I guess i would be more supportive if i believed that Uruguayan team had a chance. I think England is gonna be a surprise package this year so England and Italy to go through. Ya I know it's not like jumping and celebrating, but it's definitely not good news for him personally. It's also not whether Uruguay has a chance or not, but more to representing your country in doing what you love. PEACE! |

Hm, why would they come over? From a team who just won the UCL. Furthermore they are consistent genuine contender in every contest they part in.
Realistic sikit please. |

QUOTE(yeelong @ Jun 2 2014, 11:26 AM) Guys, do you all still have fresh mamory of when was the last time we finished second. And what happen the next season after that? That was when we have owners as good as crap. Secondly, I admire Rafa for his tactical intelligence and the team he built, but he was lacking on how he handle the media. He was practically enemy with all other managers and did not refrain himself from speaking his mind, especially when it came to SAF and Mourinho. That was when all the media turned their attention to him and the team plus the transfer saga of Alonso and Barry. It was all downhill from there then.I think it will be a lot different now. Rodgers is keeping the team tight, and so far, all he speak about is Liverpool. He's more neutral on his comments on other teams and talk more about LFC and the media does not have a reason to put him on the rope. Which is good - then he and the team is more focus. As for the transfers, every transfer is a gamble. Be it Lallana or Shaw. No one would have thought that Shevchenko would fail so miserably, or a certain assist genius just touching about 10 assists in his 1st season. |

QUOTE(yeelong @ Jun 9 2014, 12:41 PM) Bro, that one is a great goal scored by a great player. no one can save this under that circumstances. Yes it was a great goal only because Reina left the line unnecessary. If he stayed and let Agger/Skrtel pressure Aguero, that goal wouldn't be that awesome, or wouldn't even happen. |

Reina was a good keeper. From 08-11, I think he was immense. A leader, calm, agile, fantastic at penalties, great long ball distribution, and most of all, played with passion for us.
For me, the downfall was after the beach ball incident. The entire team and himself seem to have sunk and never recovered. |
