I'm thinking of starting GW soon and I was reading some of the earlier posts in the thread...with Nightfall just round the corner, would it be a good thing if I got myself a copy of Prophecies and start on that first?

Better now, u can play through...wanna wait for nightfall oso useless since u have to start somewhere XD if u get it now ur toon would be leveled and u can use him/her in factions or nightfall later if u lazy wanna make one from level 1.

Error codes 058 and 005 indicate you're not getting through to the server. Is your firewall getting in the way? GW.EXE and GWSETUP.EXE should be listed as allowed programs. Check by disabling the firewall and seeing if GW now works. If it does, go into Program Control or Exceptions menu to add these .exe files.

The next suspect is your router. Guild Wars needs TCP ports 6112 and 80 forwarded in order to work - easily done by following the guides at the excellent www.portforward.com. Just follow the steps to set a fixed IP on your PC and then look up your specific model of your router to find out how to get it working. If GW still doesn't work, you may well be the owner of a Netgear WG614 - the original firmware doesn't like GW very much, and while it's possible to update it you may find easier to adjust the configuration testings.

Port forwarding covers the basics, but you'll also need to go into Port Forwarding/Port Triggering menu on the left hand side of the screen, select Port Triggering and uncheck the entry for Starcraft. Then, click Apply, go into the WAN Setup screen and check the opction for Disable SPI Firewall before hitting Apply. If there's more than one computer you'll need to make a final visit to the uPnP menu, make sure that Turn uPnP On option is checked. Have one final click on Apply and Guild Wars should now connect.

But, can you play the game now?

Do you have any firewalls? What anti-virus are you using? Did you put your GW.exe in the exception list? But if the dat to bak works then maybe you should just leave it and see how it goes lol

Hmm... maybe you can try getting an updated DAT file so you don't have to DL that much to play, do you have a storage media which can hold around or more than 3.6Gb? I live in Sunway.

Another method is that you open GW shortcut properties and add " -image " to your shortcut, it should read as below:-

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

This command will DL the current most up to date files, GW will quit after all the files are aquired, then you remove " -image " from your shortcut, your GW is complete and ready to go then, you need to let it DL for sometime though(a night maybe?), but after this DL you don't have to DL much aside from new updates and loading between zones will be a breeze(which should better your GW experience).

just solve the prob by downloading it online if u think ur cd has fault....any other probs just contact the support site...they help fast.

Hey guys, I just finished the Battle in The Sewers and the coop mission right after it... I cant seem to find the other primary missions... Is that it? I thinki killed shiro think i killed shiro thingy witht he orbs etc etc... Did i just finish storyline?
