Sure i just got it , sure some of you might say why not top up to get a d40 instead? thats was my thinking, but is my budget very tight , well the s3 IS is a good camera for me, well maybe when i work time might be consdering into DSLR got $$ lo.

yes you are right,and i wont get all the accesories,only the flash,lens adapter/hood thats all but i still cant afford DSLR hobby , especially i want more lenses, SB600 Flash:P, Light Sphere II,Lower Pro Bag. im only 16 still studying:P

u all keep talking about the slave flash cannot be mount on the S3 IS right~
is flash together when the S3 Flash right ?

the slave flash HF DC1 can be mount on the S3 IS with a bracket which the flash will be placed beside the camera.yea i think it should flash togethern when the s3 flash,not sure never try yet before.

what were talking about DIY a flash setup somehow u can mod the flash with a styrofoam cup as a diffuser and it spreads it , or either face it up bounce the ceiling

if canon had made S3 with a hot shoe will be great just buy a 430EX

Maybe the hotshoe will appear on the future models for this cam. Maybe the S4 etc.... but then they might have to discontinue the G-Series. Hopefully the make one with super-tele like that of the new Olympus which has 16-18X Optical zoom and supposedly 15fps burst mode....CRAZY.

As for the CANON Slave flash, I have tested it with my S3 IS before and it works like any other slave flash. Has a few buttons on the unit for preference settings but downside is that it runs on those old compact camera Lithium batteries(The fat ones). It would have been great if it ran on 2xAAA.

Really works ar? looks like its modable
