New flagship? QUOTE I think after months of speculating it’s already a common knowledge, that next flagship GPU is called Fiji. It’s worth noting that until now, we didn’t really have any proof of it being called Fiji. Things may change a bit, thanks to the latest entry in Zauba. Zauba is a database of import and export data, which was very helpful for the past few months before Maxwell GM204 made an appearance. According to the latest entry, AMD is currently finishing the C880 model, which is believed to be the backbone of Radeon R9 390 series, equipped with Fiji processor. Similarly, Radeon R9 290 and R9 290X are using the same board known as C671, so technically we could conclude C880 will be the utilized by both Fiji PRO and Fiji XT (R9 390 and R9 390X respectively). Sauce: AMD Fiji XT spotted at Zauba

Curious on the performance and the pricing already, even though still no information on the former yet lol. so what do you think the local pricing of r9 390/390x? lower than 970/980?.. i guess it wont be much cheaper .. if the heat and power still sky high, amd will be f***ed up..

I'd say R9 390 could be around RM1.2K. But if the power consumption is crazy high, then gg. About heat.don't worry on that.. AMD partners will solve that..

This probably the rumored card that is bigger than Hawaii and will use the hybrid cooler. So heat and power consumption probably off the chart.

Anyway, it's still too early to determine whether the R9 300 series is going to be a heat/power monster like the 290/290X... Having a hybrid cooler doesn't mean it's going to gobble up massive power and puts out lots of heat. The purported pictures of the 'R9 390X' which has been leaked could be an elaborate fake, or it could be a very early prototype...

R9 295X2 wasn't that power hogging. Hopefully the R9 3xx series does improve on power management, to something similar of nVidia's Maxwell line.

http://www.loadthegame.com/2014/11/11/leak...eam-processors/i am just Happy found out is going to be manufacture in 20nm process yup with enough lamb/goat sacrificial sacrifice(to Graphic Godz) this Friday surely this R9 3XX will be 40-50% faster and TDP from the previous R9 290 Flagship And HBM Hynix seem to be promising... it's competitor(Nvidia) only going to be able to use this tech 2016 on Pascal Gpu... hm hope this is a good investment by AMD http://wccftech.com/amd-20nm-r9-390x-feaut...ter-than-gddr5/This post has been edited by Unseen83: Nov 12 2014, 02:04 PM
