both also don't make sense, i already email a RHB banker for more info.

I picked up 2 same FD promo flyers from RHB in Section 14 PJ that I had mentioned
on my Post #717 on page #36:
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3190807/+700

(1) RHB 15 Months Step-up FD Promo. Effective rate is slightly lower than 4.00% -- Valid until 31 August 2014

Attached Image

Source:
http://www.rhb.com.my/Whats_New/deposits/s...D/#.U6KpuijDVAc

--------------------------------------------------------------------

(2) RHB Ramadhan 12-Month FD Promo -- Valid until 31 August 2014
(i) 3.78%, put additional 5% into CASA for 3 months
(ii) 3.88%, put additional 10% into CASA for 6 months
(iii) 4.28%, put additional 20% into CASA for 9 months
(iv) 5.00%, put additional 50% into CASA for 12 months

For examples:
(ii) If want to take 3.88%, then need to place min RM 10K in 1 year FD to get 3.88%; then also need to put additional RM 1K (10% of RM 10K) into CASA and hold for 6 months.
So this needs to prepare total RM 11K.

(iv) If want to take 5.00%, then need to place min RM 10K in 1 year FD to get 5.00%; then also
need to put additional RM 5K (50% of RM 10K) into CASA and hold for 12 months.
So this needs to prepare total RM 15K.

Minimum FD placement RM 10K

Note: Very sorry for the wrong info that I posted previously on my Post #717 on page #36.. sad.gif

(3) RHB Pure CMD-i FD Promo -- Valid until 31 August 2014
3.7% for 12 months, no need to put money into CASA.

Thanks ! Their SA rate looks good except I seldom keep too much money in SA.

Ya, considering Affin or MBSB for my next banks. Already have few in my hands, juggling around the FD's.  cry.gif

Affin may be good with board rate of 3.6% for 1 year and hopefully will go higher later.  rclxms.gif

The best from MBSB is merely their 5 years FD at 4.7%.

Those who are getting RM0.15 for UOB banker's check, do you mind sharing  the location of the branch? Thanks biggrin.gif

As long as you get the same FD name(s) printed on the banker's check, it will cost you
RM 0.15.

For example, if your FD is only under your name, when you request the check payable
to your name, then it cost you RM 0.15.

Another example, if your FD is joint name with your father, when you request the check
payable to both your name and your father name, then it cost you RM 0.15.

3rd example, if your FD is only under your name, when you request the check payable
to your father name, then it cost you RM 2.15.

I wished that's the case but no matter what I argue, the manager insisted that it is a branch-specified promo doh.gif

This Saturday, will go to OCBC for the 3 months promo..if the OPR is changed on the September meeting, just nice the date biggrin.gif

This is impossible ma.. hmm.gif
As long as your payee name(s) on banker's check is (are) exactly the same on your FD, you pay
only RM 0.15 in UOB.

This is the same applies to OCBC, if I am not mistaken, banker's check from OCBC is free when
you make the same name(s) on banker's check.

3 months FD is good also, because I am thinking banks FD promo may not react fast to the
new OPR increase.

BCC thx fir sharing.

it work out to be
1. 3.735%
2. 3.675%
3. 3.745%
4. 3.333%

does not include interest gain in CASA amount and i remove the capital as soon as they are free to be released. (i.e. package 1 the 5% removed from capital after 3 months)

Still a weird promo. better go for step up promo just 3 months more only.

Ha ha, with the RHB promo, BR cannot claim to have the highest FD rate, the 3 month rate is higher than BR's 3.6%.  brows.gif  brows.gif

all 4 package also for 12 months, just different rate and holding period for CASA. Which is why it is weird sweat.gif

I must have been looking forward to the OPR change. Have not considered RHB's FD promo.

Looking at the attachment sent by BCC, the top right hand shows "For Internal Use Only" ? BCC able to get it for our consumption. notworthy.gif

RHB is playing with numbers trying to lure people at diff FD rates. sad.gif

I will ignore all RHB FD promos since they are all 1 year FDs.

About "For Internal Use Only", I just went to the counter and asked for a copy only..

Ya, I hate this type of tying up cash in CASA.

Thanks for sharing RHB's FD promo.

I saw Affin Bank promo yesterday in newspaper with prizes for Merc for saving, FD accounts.

Below site not fully launched by Affin:
http://omg1m.com/

So if Affin FD rate goes up together with OPR change, this may be a good one to go in.

Their FD rate is now 3.73% for 1 year by end of June. I think no need CASA. I received calls from UOB last week on the 3.73%.

For the right one, it is for CASA account. Gift with requirement to hold CASA of various amounts for certain months. I was in UOB last week and this week to withdraw FD. Saw their brochure. smile.gif

The one shown by BCC is for 3 months. The 3.73% 1 year FD is the latest that they are offering by end of June. smile.gif
